Just wondering what firearm is most commonly owned among the NES community. My guess is an AR type rifle or 1911 variant of some sort. EXCLUDING these two firearms, what gun is owned my more NES members than any other?

My guess is: Sig 229 in .40

Something in .22LR?

The 10/22 has got to be up there. It's really tough to answer this question, because it depends on how you break stuff up. If you break it all the way down to individual SKU, my guesses are one of the Glock models, Sig models, or the S&W 642. If you go based on design pattern, I agree with the OP that the AR-15 and M1911A1 are in the lead with the 10/22 also a strong contender.

I suspect all of mine are fairly common:

- Ruger 22/45 Hunter long barrel
- S&W 1911 scandium commander
- Sig P229R 9mm
- M&P15FT

I bet S&W j frames, especially the 642/442 are very common as are Glocks.

I bet for handguns the 1911SC/PD is pretty far up there, not to mention the
SW642/637.

It also seems everyone and their brother has at least one Ruger Mark II/III type
pistol, or a 22/45.

J frame variants, would be my guess. Sig 229's are up there, but not as common. Also, the 10/22 is probably a staple in most homes. I'm guilty of owning multiples of each.

My bets would be on a Ruger 10/22 for a rifle and one of the Ruger Standard/Mark I/II/III for a handgun.

Me?
Sig 226 - 9mm
Sig 229 - .40S&W
Para 1911 - .45 ACP
Para 1911 - 9mm
Para Carry 12 - .45 ACP
Walther PPK/s
Walther P99c - .40 S&W
S&W 625
S&W 686
Ruger 101
AK 47
H&K USC - .45ACP

All are common, but maybe not the HK carbine

Would it be more practical to group common types rather than list specific models in the poll?

e.g. Glock compact, Glock Std, Ruger .22 long gun, Ruger .22 pistol, Ruger 9mm, S&W J Frame, S&W K frame, S&W L frame, etc.
