Barb and I want a 45 acp (keep in mind we're in NH, so MA rules don't apply).
Uses will be for mostly:
pin shooting
target shooting
secondary use may be for HD.
So something accurate
Something heavy (to help with multiple shots)
Something with a larger capacity
Prefer something that can handle +P or other major loads (for pin shooting).
We love the feel and trigger on a nice 1911 (such as the Kimber Gold Match II), but they are mostly single stack so 7-8 rounds.
Is this overkill? Should I go with a S&W or Springfield 1911 and then 'upgrade' it?
Should we save money and consider something like an XD 45 tactical 5 inch? But these are not as heavy as a full 1911 and the trigger is no where as nice, but they have larger capacity.
Others say H&K.
Or what else should I consider???
There are so many choices in 45 ACP that it's tough to narrow down.
I know everyone will list their favorite, but feel free to make suggestions, but tell me why you think a particular suggestion is a good choice.
