The cases at the one on Ballard street in Worcester are now empty of any ammunition as well.
that's the same Walmart where I was asked for my LTC while trying to buy airgun pellets.
The last time I shopped there I couldn't find anyone speaking English, I kid you not!
I inquired about this as I live right up the street and this was very convenient for me. Per one of the managers the door to the case broke and they can no longer keep the ammo in there until the door is fixed (it has been that way for several months now). They did retrieve a couple boxes of .40 from under the counter when I asked though.
I don't mean this as something personal to anyone. But I've never understood why some of you guys get your panties in a wad over things like this. There are plenty of small business owners who would love your business (even if you have to pay 50 cents more a box). Walmart and Dicks have never done anything for you except to expedite the demise of local gun stores.[sad2]

Shop local only goes so far when there are such wide price disparities.I don't mean this as something personal to anyone. On a positive note, Dicks in Framingham had Wolf ammo for sale. fmj 9mm at 8.90 a box. I bought 18 boxes and was in and out under 10 minutes. Thanks Dicks!

The Walmart in framingham has not had ammo for almost a month now.
Also the last time I went their no one seemed to have a key. We waited 30 minutes for someone to finally find a key and the person helping is or should I say (not helping us) didn't have a clue what she was doing. Starting with not knowing how to open or close the case, know what a LTC was compared to an FID. She then couldn't get the cash register in sporting goods to work so we had to follow her over to the photo area. The person working at that counter started asking me questions - "is this for a rifle or hand gun" I said its for both. She replied "is it for a rifle? or a hand gun?" I said its for a rifle.... to try and end the questions. She then says " oh no this is for a hand gun" I was buying 9mm. She then takes my LTC and my friends LTC as we bother were buying ammo but in the way you would check an ID when buying liquore. Then they comment how we both are from the same state? no idea why that is an odd thing. The icing on the cake is when she goes " I will escort you out, I dont want you shooting up the place" then she literally walked us out the front doors.
I planned on grabbing something else in the store but decided to not waste anymore time or effort.
After being insulted and escorted out like a delinquent I dont think I will ever go back to the Framingham Walkmart especially if the ammo is gone.
Exactly right. 50¢ extra per box at a dealer is no big problem for me. Several dollars (or more) extra per box and... I'm sorry... I'm walking away and going to Walmart or Dicks (assuming I can't wait for the next show).I've tried going to some of the local stores. The price disparity is much higher than 50 cents per box out here. All three stores charged $5-10 more for the exact same 50 rounds of 9mm. One place was actually $20 more per 50.
My problem with FS is that they tell me one price on the phone and it's always a buck a box more expensive when I get there. What's that all about? If I'm heading out towards Boston, I'll generally stop at Four Seasons to stock up since it's a comparable price and relatively on the way.
No ammo at Wal-Mart in Chicopee either. Don't know why and I can never find anyone to talk to back there to inquire as to why. I can only assume the same happened in Chicopee as Framingham but I cannot say for sure. Oh well, Dick's is just as convenient. The local shops around me all have a limited selection of ammo as it is and in small amounts. Haven't tried the other Wal-Marts in the area but if I'm going that far it's not worth it to me to buy anything unless I'm in the area for something else.

I have never been asked for ID buying ammo at Walmart in CT or NH..
