Kennedy is a no vote.

Just ran the chain saw for a bit and all the time this Kennedy thing was bothering me. I thought about it and can not understand how anyone can even think about voting for any Kennedy.

Some are just not seeing the country as it is or some just simply ain't who they pretend to be.

There’s a slim chance he’d get more votes than Biden in NH, and maybe RI.
No, no chance at all.

Polls from January in NH show Biden at 42% and Kennedy at 8%

I can’t find any polls in RI that include RFK, Jr., but the polls from last December show Biden at 49%.

You guys need to be realistic. Like all third party candidates, RFK, Jr. has a chance to be a spoiler but he’s got no chance to win any state.

No, but in some cases if he is running as an independent or whatever he might end up nadering Biden or at least siphoning a few points away from him.

I think RFK has the potential to pull a lot more votes from Biden than Trump.... although Trump's handling of the covidiocy communist bullshit wasnt that great, so that might have some
influence too. Although then again the average US moron voter has the attention span of a gnat, so some big % of the population has already seemed to have forgotten that the government f***ed them up the ass for 3 years and permanently devalued their currency among other things all because of a stupid flu. But that is meaningless, most of this country is more concerned with when DWTS is on or some bullsshit like that. [rofl] I have to laugh because it wouldn't be funny if it wasnt true.
Yes, RFK Jr. can be a spoiler. It isn’t clear yet who he will take more votes from. The support he is receiving from some of the MAGA crowd is baffling to me. We’ve seen some folks supporting him here on NES, despite the fact that he is a left wing progressive.

Trump ran as a Republican and he is continuing to do so. By definition, he is not a third party candidate.
Well, by definition some here call themselves a Conservative when they are no such thing.

The RINO Party hates Trump. It was MAGA who backed him and gave him the win against all possible odds.

People can change though. What's the verdict on Tulsi? Trump might have his eyes on her for VP.

Why is this so baffling to you? As someone who flirted with supporting him I think it’s very obvious why “MAGA” voters would support RFKJr. He got the biggest issue of our time right (the vax) while Trump is still touting Op Warp Speed; he has explicitly stated he’s going to combat the US Intelligence Agencies, while Trump wants to build new FBI buildings. He also is non-interventionist (other than Israel). These are three main “MAGA” principles.

Yes, he is a kook when it comes to environmentalism and cannot be trusted on guns. Otherwise he’s an appealing candidate.

MAGA does not support Kennedy nor does Trump.

He is a screaming progressive. All you have to do is go to his campaign web site and look at his policies. Don’t believe me — believe RFK Jr.

  1. Raise the minimum wage to $15, which is the equivalent to its 1967 level.
  2. Prosecute union-busting corporations so that labor can organize and negotiate fair wages.
  3. Expand free childcare to millions of families with programs like that pioneered by the state of New Mexico.
  4. Drop housing costs by $1000 per family and make home ownership affordable by backing 3% home mortgages with tax-free bonds.
  • We will incentivize the transition of industry to zero-waste cycles and clean energy sources, and forge agreements with other countries to implement these policies throughout the global supply chain. These first two policies will vastly reduce the toxic waste, industrial poisons, and pesticides that make people and ecosystems sick.
  • We will protect wild lands from further development, by curbing mining, logging, oil drilling, and suburban sprawl. We will become a global advocate for rainforest preservation and marine restoration. We will rethink development policies that promised economic growth while ignoring ecological sustainability, and ended up delivering neither.
  • We will restore the USDA and the EPA to their proper role of protecting health and the environment. Today, corporate influence has severely compromised these agencies, resulting in a proliferation of highly toxic chemicals in our food, soil, air, and water. It’s time to clean it up!
1. Targeted Community Repair

Communities that were specifically targeted for destruction need to be specifically targeted for repair. During Jim Crow, Black banks, businesses, hospitals, schools, and farms were targeted for destruction. Racists knew that without these, the Black community had no chance of building wealth. We must set federal dollars aside to rebuild Black infrastructure.

Targeted Community Repair will be available to devastated communities across the country, not just Black. The criteria will be around need, not skin color. However, because there are so many Black communities in need, this program will channel significant resources toward the rebuilding of these most devastated of communities.

2. Prison reform

RFK Jr. will undo the legacy of the 1994 crime bill that disfavors African Americans. He will seek early release for nonviolent offenders. He will reorient the prison system around rehabilitation rather than punishment. His policy will be tough in the sense of keeping violent people where they can do no further harm, but generous in recognizing the fundamental desire of most human beings to live meaningful lives and contribute to society.

Accordingly, Mr. Kennedy will defend these worker’s rights:

  • The right to organize.
  • The right to collective bargaining.
  • The right to strike.
  • The right to meaningful wages and benefits, which includes a significant increase to the minimum wage .
  • The right to a healthy and safe workplace with appropriate working conditions.
  • The right to compensation if injured on the job.
  • The right to a dignified and secure retirement.
Mr. Kennedy will vigorously defend these and other workers' rights and use the power of the presidency to uplift the standing of workers throughout the nation. He will:

  • Vigorously enforce the law against union-busting corporations so that workers at places like Starbucks and Amazon can organize.
  • Fight for a federal tax deduction for union dues, in recognition that strong unions are a boon to our nation.
  • Raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, with automatic further increases to keep pace with inflation.
  • Support legislation like the PRO Act to boost worker protections and unionization.
  • Lobby Congress to change bankruptcy laws so that collective bargaining agreements are preserved through bankruptcy and assumed by the new owner. He will make sure that corporations cannot use bankruptcy maneuvers to strip workers of their agreements, benefits, and pensions.
  • Strengthen protections for workers in the gig economy, so that corporations can no longer use gig workers to undermine wages for regular employees.

What do you want me to say? MAGA is 1000% behind Trump and even Trump said Kennedy has nothing to do with him and is Biden"s opponent.
I am going to vote for Trump early and often, but I’m not going to worship at his alter. So please explain to me the main tenants of MAGA.

I believe in the 2A and don't you worry, I won't be taking your guns away.....but....on the other hand.....I do believe in gun control.........

I’m voting for your candidate, but please don’t make me dismantle your arguments for him.

First let me appease the right with my statements but end it with a wink to the Left that indeed I do support bans.

RFK appeals to some because of his anti-vax and other anti-establishment positions. But nothing can change that he is large government socialist. He just has actual reasonable, logical, issues with uniparty self enrichment schemes such as covid vaccines and other nonsense. He is a good democrat candidate for democrats that can think for themselves (is that an oximoron?). He is not a candidate for any self respecting centrist or right of center voter.

But then again, people are stupid on both sides so you never know what they will do...

For reference, any member of the uniparty is neither left nor right. They are just uniparty self enrichment thieves.

Trump ran as a Republican and he is continuing to do so. By definition, he is not a third party candidate.
Only because the Republican party has basically submitted itself to be absorbed by the Trumpist party. He was the GOP candidate in 2016 and 2020. In 2024 he's running for himself, the GOP latching on to him.

EDIT: The Democratic equivalent would be if Bernie ran again and actually  won the primaries this time. Dems would have no choice but to back the independent.

Because he was heavily critical of the covid response. Something Trump has yet to really apologize for and perhaps trumps biggest weakness among the people who would vote for trump. I think Trump made a huge mistake by simply trying to act like covid lunacy never happened. He rarely (if ever) speaks of it because he knows he had a small hand in f***ing it up. A lot of people are still pissed. There's tons of people who have had their livelihoods completely destroyed by basically government fiat. And they're pissed because nobody will force anyone else to be punished or at least admit they were clearly wrong.

Ding ding ding......

This is basically been more or less the plank position of every president I've ever seen in the past like 40+ years Trump included. Evaluating presidents positions on gun control is nearly useless outside of perhaps examining what kind of Supreme Court picks they're going to make and in that sense at least Trump passed that bar....

Who is going to prevent WW3?

Who is going to oppose big pharma?

Who is going to dismantle the f***ing US Intelligence Agencies?

OK, so you're not interested in either looking at his campaign web site or read the excerpts that I posted which support the fact that Kennedy is a screaming progressive. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing, because NES.

Keep supporting the left wing, big government progressive, while claiming that he isn't what he himself professes. If you like left-wing, big government progressives so much, why aren't you voting for Biden?

Yes, but they disagree with almost all of the rest of his policies.

First off, these are all positions of traditional democrats. You are either a retard or being deliberately obtuse in your replies, and I don’t think you’re a retard.

What I am saying is that things like minimum wage and prison reform and the like are unimportant to me, especially as long as the uniparty is in power. The most important things to me are avoiding WW3, dismantling the “deep state”, and fighting American fascism. I am voting for Trump, but to say he is strong on these core issues (for me anyway) is ignoring reality.

Edit: I’ll add inflation, but I don’t think either of them is going to reduce govt spending, although I’m cautiously optimistic that Trump and an R house have learned their lessons
