Yeah, thats quite obvious but it would help if the leaders of the muslims religion came out and condemned this shit right? Maybe its the medias fault for not seeking these people out? The numbers are a lot better, but I bet it's still not more than single digit % every day carry rate amongst gun owners in most places. At least the total number of owners is growing so that % is more meaningful, but it's still not enough. While those states have a WAY higher guns/capita rate than new england does, doesn't mean those people are carrying a handgun. In that regard its no different than MA... what do we have, like 250, 300K LTC holders? Out of those, how many you want to bet carry on a regular basis? I bet the number is less than 5%, and that's being generous.

5% among all CC permit owners in the country is very generous. It's probably more like 2-3%. I grew up in Tennessee and still have a ton of friends and family there.
Several of my friends have carry permits. I know of exactly one who carries on a daily basis. Things have improved since Tennessee passed a law legalizing carry in a car without a permit. A lot more people have dropped a pistol in their glove box and just let it live there. It doesn't do you much good if you're not in the car, but beats the heck out of hunting for a sharp stick.
I think a lot of people will go through the training for a carry permit and get one "just in case". They get it with the idea that they'll carry, then they discover that it's actually a PITA lugging around a couple extra pounds stuffed into or on your waistband, so they start leaving it behind more and more. They'll stop carrying it on short walks around the neighborhood, then they quit carrying when they run to the supermarket. Before long they almost never carry a gun.

I'm tired of people blaming foreign policy and wars on this. Before Constantinople fell in 1453 they prevented the wide spread invasion of the Muslims into Europe. They want world domination. Not going to sugar coat it. The problem has always been there we are just now waking up to it.
