"red dot" sight differences?

I'm planing on giving a Replica ACOG a shot for my .22lr AR upper.
My friend has had some good luck with his G&P ACOG 4x on a 5.56 so it should be fine for a 22lr.
It's a risk, but if it doesn't work well it can go on eBay for some airsoft player to pick up.
G&P are the best knock-offs out there, and their EoTech or Aimpoint should be fine for a 22lr AR

Buy a mid priced dot and be happy. Most red dots out there will work fine for a rimfire. When you move up the larger centerfire rifles start to look at the higher end optics.

I purchased an Ultradot from Greg Derr and he mounted it and did a trigger job on my MKIII for $200. Take a look at the bullseye shooters and they are using Ultradots
