Natick Mall Firearms K9

Who wastes their time at the mall? They only have stores now that target teenagers. There's literally nothing I would want in a mall. I went to my local mall just because I wanted to walk and because they have a hobby lobby. I didn't even feel like buying a Starbucks coffee when I was there. I walked in the mall and there were maybe 50-100 people in the entire mall. Years ago it used to be a hopping place, today I honestly don't even know how these stores stay open any longer. For me anyways, there's literally nothing in the mall that even remotely interests me. It's all just cheap 3rd world or Chinese junk and if I really really want to buy cheap Chinese junk I'll do it on amazon or ebay.
Chain stores with long term leases locked in that have to pay rent if there or not. Ever notice how malls never have small independents as tenants except in carts that monetize some of the pedestrian space? I go to the mall whenever I need to. The last time I needed to was several years ago.

Lenscrafters is the only reason to hit the Mall and then maybe 99 or Uno's for lunch/dinner.

Speculation or direct info? Do you know the procedure or are you assuming it? Do you know that is it the oils the dogs sniff and not other odors from firearms and ammo (like gun shot residue - present in small quantities even on reasonably well cleaned handguns)?

Remember, carrying a gun is not evidence of illegal activity (Commonwealth v. Couture) and you are under no obligation to show an LTC to non-LEO even if they are wearing a uniform.

Escort to you car? Time for some fun. I do not want you to have my name, which is why I did not give it. You can follow me to the edge of mall property. I will have a different person, whose name you do not know, pick up my car to preserve my privacy.

As to Dr Grant on off duty - private property owners can choose to give, or not give, any level of deference they wish.

A better trap would be take the car.
Wait a week send in a foia request to cjis for an audit of your plate.
Where cjis information is protected by law and not shareable with non law enforcement then the mall does not have a cjis terminal. If natick or any other pd runs the plate they cannot release the info to the mall.
Also a valid criminal justice reason needs to be present for the pd to run a plate or license. No valid criminal justice reason and that is a violation of fed state civil law.
The pd can have their terminals disconnected and be prohibited from having a cjis connection. The operator and agency can be held liable under fed state and civil liability.

PD can simply say "We had a report of someone spotted with a gun, ran the plate to see if the owner was licensed, confirmed that, and that was the end of the issue". Plus, PD's run plates all the time and you never know it - sometimes it's as simple a cop at a stop light running the plate on the car in front of him/her.

Unrelated to the Mall, but related because someone mentioned gun powder residue.
Back in the old days of freedom and unrestricted travel, precovid, I traveled a lot.

I was on an early flight one Monday morning, going out of Logan to Germany.
I had spent the previous night reloading, I had been on the Dillion 650 and hand loaded some 308.

I was randomly flagged for the finger swab, I asked what it looked for.

"Highly sensitive device, it can detect if you been near explosive or gun power in the last 48 hours"

[rofl]Needless to say, but I was heading to the gate a few moments later.

So as long a bad guy doesn't shower or wash their hands, we safe.
I went from a range to the airport - no hit from the machine.
Have talked to guys who play with actual explosives who said the same - no hit even when residue is a given.

Airports run several types of screeners - the metal detector, the millimeter wave scanner won’t detect spent powder. On a couple occasions, I’ve had them swab some of my carryons and put the swab in an explosive detector. it is my understanding that this won’t detect spent powder because it isn’t an explosive.

Of finding out the address of a super hot mom. 😂

They had run me through the mass spectrometer detector after a thorough pat down and bag search - I used to do some last minute, one way with carry-on only travel that checked every box on the watch list.
I don't do the MM wave detector since the safe levels have never been truly tested in the US and working with MM wave equipment of the same output power comes with some interesting safety warnings.

Curious which MSD they use.....

At one time I looked up the info - not a lot of public info on capabilities at the time but what I did find was the machines should have been pretty capable if setup correctly.
I'm sure the sensitivity has been reduced to avoid false alarms given the quality of the operator's varies greatly (I've had people running a metal part three times through x-ray that I was handle carrying with paper work and missing a toolkit with a knife in my carry-on)
Long since forgot about it and the only time I get swabbed now is if my known traveler number isn't entered so I have to get the rub down.

My camera bag has seen a laundry list of questionable places- it's been on the floor of the Loeb at Mass rifle, flame thrower shoots, reenactments, airshow, race tracks, etc.

When I visit DC alone I get randomly selected for screening every place I go, they swab my bag all the time at DC museums and any airport I visit.

Not once has it hit- I've gotten to the point I actually kind of doubt the accuracy of the machine. I mean, I've never showered it with CFE223 or anything, but with the shit that bag has seen its gotta have some residues.

The machine probably recognizes the signatures of led styphnate, nitrocellulose, nitroglycerine, and nitrocellulose - and the nitro would be in combination with another signature, generally nitrocellulose, giving it away as small arms propellant.

Many police vehicles have automatic plate readers. Cop doesn't have to do anything except drive behind someone. Reader does the rest.

WTF is the intent behind those signs? The mall wants people to feel safe, and what do you do? Put up signs that only plant the notion that violence involving fire arms is never a zero percent chance possibility? They probably weren't thinking about it without the signs, but are now thinking about it after seeing this sign. That means these patrols are protecting the public from the sign itself more than any credible threat.

This police state bullsh*t is straight up fascist dystopia.
