I'm just throwing this out.
If she had come out and said that schools could be separated, black and white?
Abortion in the state will not be allowed. Federal law will no longer be imposed in the state.
What could be the recourse of the citizenry.
I guess I'm asking, what is the minimum rule over a society, Federal protections, States rights that trample our Federal protections, Federal rights that trample our State protections.
I guess I'm asking who do I allow to have power over me and mine.
Please realize this post comes from not there.
It matters not whether a law is state or federal. It doesn't even really matter whether or not a law is constitutional or unconstitutional. What matters is whether or not a law is
just or unjust. Consider this excerpt from Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s
Letter from a Birmingham Jail:
"One may well ask, 'How can you advocate breaking some laws andobeying others?' The answer is found in the fact that there are two types of laws: there are just laws, and there are unjust laws. Iwould agree with St. Augustine that
'An unjust law is no law at all.'"
"Now, what is the difference between the two? How does one determine when a law is just or unjust?
A just law is a man-madecode that squares with the moral law, or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. Toput it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas, an unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal and natural law. Any law thatuplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.
All segregation statutes are unjust becausesegregation distorts the soul and damages the personality. It gives the segregator a false sense of superiority and the segregated afalse sense of inferiority."...
..."Let us turn to a more concrete example of just and unjust laws.
An unjust law is a code that a majority inflicts on a minority thatis not binding on itself. This is difference made legal. On the other hand,
a just law is a code that a majority compels a minority tofollow, and that it is willing to follow itself. This is sameness made legal."...

We can never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was 'legal' and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did inHungary was 'illegal.' It was 'illegal' to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler's Germany. But I am sure that if I had lived in Germanyduring that time, I would have aided and comforted my Jewish brothers even though it was illegal. If I lived in a Communistcountry today where certain principles dear to the Christian faith are suppressed, I believe I would openly advocate disobeyingthese anti-religious laws."
This man - Rev. Martin Luther King - was absolutely brilliant. I can guarantee if he were alive today he'd agree with us. Simply substitute "gun control" for "segregation" everywhere above and there you have it!
I know I'm probably raising the hackles of some of you non-religious types but I can think of only one real way to truly define what is
truly just and unjust - and that is through God!!!
