ROCHESTER — Police say a man was within his rights when he walked into Hannaford on Milton Road with a holstered gun Thursday night.
Police received a call from Hannaford around 8 p.m. after a man was seen entering the store with a holstered gun, Sgt. Steve Burke said.
"It was nothing," Burke said. The man had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and committed no crime, he said.
Still, he said it is a good idea to call police if you see anything suspicious.
"Most definitely. That's how we're able to solve crime," he said. "We welcome it."
