It's time..... The movement.

Has anyone thought of radio play from people like Jeff Kuhner, Howie Carr for the Local aspect and or someone like Andrew Wilkow nationally (SirusXM). All who are very Pro-2a I would be willing to try and contact there producers. HK let me know if this is something needed!

Compile a list of all these types of people and PM me.

I apologize for not reading all the posts, but what about we make our own radio presence? I haven't had personal experience doing this but you can broadcast yourself at places like:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ - live radio, callers, looks easy to set up
http://www.spreaker.com/ - looks like you can pre-record and set up "episodes"

If not radio, why not some kind of YouTube channel? I'm sure we've got some charismatic guys on NES that could effectively deliver our message.

heres anouther group that may or may not be conectable.... martial arts (also known as self defence) groups...
ok, heres my list so far tonight (sorry, I have to go to work tomarrow morning). I have the web sites and any physical addresses for them as well. If anyone wants to build on this I can PM you my list so far, or you can pm the groups you found and I will add them when I get back to a computer tomarrow

HK - Great work on keeping this alive. I'm sure others will take part of the torch and turn your single flame into a bonfire.

Count me in as "one of them". I will be there...

My two cents are this.......

Don't move to fast and get burnt out and make sure we do it right the first time all the way down to the branding. If that means waiting to find the right pro bono graphic designer for the perfect logo - then wait. I understand we don't have large amounts of time but good things come to those that wait.

Unfortunately branding is everything these days... if it don't look cool it doesn't gravitate.

I agree, we only get one chance to present this.

I can only wish we have something similar in Rhode Island- I do not see any movements in this direction :-(((

If it goes the way I see it in my head, it won't be just ma, it will be nationally. Baby steps first. This is to unify every group in the region and country.

We need a bunch of smart people. And a great speaker.

I dont like Obama, but he is one hell of a speaker.

I can speak and deliver emotion well. I just need a little help organizing what I want to say, sadly I'm not a friendly looking man. Lol

Hk i like your design. Did a little tweak. I don't know about the picture on the back but do think the 2a should be larger than the other text.

I like this, but you may want to make a few small edits.

on the back, instead of 2A, i would recommend "Amendment II:" centered, and then have your text while underlining shall not be infringed

Also, Google docs is a great idea. It's also great to collaborate on a document with a couple of people simultaneously.

Good ideas. Something I just threw together really fast. I love that site

This is all very exhilarating, but it always seems so hopeless against them, the machine.
Maybe we should start using their playbook.
Hillary wrote her senior honors thesis on this Chicago Socialist while at Wellesley College.
He's the father of modern community organizing ... just puttin it out there [hmmm].

Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals
This is the last book written by community organizer Saul D. Alinsky

• RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
• RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
• RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
• RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
• RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
• RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
• RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
• RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
• RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
• RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
• RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
• RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

I'm in HK, but I can't make it this Saturday. Nice to see GOAL poking in here as well.

I'll throw in time for whatever as plans shape. I know social media and anything internet related.

HKdrummer, you said you had a lot of people respond to you (a lot more than 20) - once you guys really figure out what it is that you're doing maybe you could assign one state (or part of or group of state(s) depending on which one(s)) to a person and have them register and become familiar with whatever that state or area's popular shooting forum is in order to promote this "movement". It would also be useful for gathering info on whether any other people are trying anything similar. Likewise with any other national or location-unaffiliated forums out there.

Not a real big fan of the fist to be honest, might be easily confused with "black power" (thats the first thing I thought of at least).

I think the mission statement should be the 2A. Maybe with emphasis added to 'shall not be infringed.' That is the goal right?

We need to start negotiating from where we should be, not from where we are now. The Feinstein bill is a perfect example of their negotiations. They are starting way to the extreme of what we currently have for gun laws. Everyone's focus is on that but it actually hasn't been submitted for consideration. However, HR 21 has been. It is a much more 'reasonable' bill in comparison but would still be terrible for 2A rights. We need to negotiate by attacking the current system. We need less gun control, not more! If we start negotiating from where we are right now we are guaranteed to lose ground. We need to gain ground and the only way to do that is to reset the boundaries of negotiation.

We also need to engage with other groups who can reframe the argument. The reason these shootings have happened is because these people were mentally unstable and taking psycotropic (spelling?) drugs which have been known to cause homicidal thoughts in otherwise nonviolent people! Put the other side on the defensive by attacking the mental health issues. Make them fight on multiple fronts! If they dictate the battlefield and the terms of battle they WILL win.

I also want to suggest that we reach out to another forum. I only just learned of this from a post here on NES the other day. I am talking about The Liberal Gun Club Forum. I have been reading some of their posts. These are pro 2A people with a variety to match NES members. From my reading more of these people would be considered Libertarian than Progressives/Democrats. Not unlike NES with a large Libertarian contingent. I'm not suggesting we get married but we do have a common cause. I think we should join forces with those from there ON THIS ISSUE. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Aside from any banned members (coughBaikal49cough), do you know of any NES members that also have an account on the Liberal Gun Club?

No. I literally just learned of this site 2days ago? I ave read some of the threads. Shouldn't be hard to set up an account and t the very least try to pull them in to the Feb 8th state house thing.

Great public speaker. Extemporaneous is my specialty. Debate is my domain.

I'm not boasting. Trying to help in any way I can. I am fortunate to have a "way with people and crowds and words". Can write very well. My delivery is where I excel. My (sad to say) largest asset is my very Un intimidating looks. Good/Young looking (not in a 20 yr old way)

I can help with leadership if needed. Once was a Pres to 18,000+ members of a due paying association of Business Professionals who voted for me in a 80% landslide victory.

I currently own two businesses and RE in Ma would love to not have to move. Willing to help financially also

(Geesh I sound like such a boaster).

How are you with searching the web and compiling a huge list? Are you a google master?

For the most part, this is a manual task. Think "intern" job or something like that. It is not difficult, but it is time consuming. I usually farm out stuff like this on eLance.com. You'd be amazed at what you can get done for $100.

Good start, if you can make it saturday, I urge you to join us. We need to collect this information in one spot and create a database.
Once we know what we are going to say, we should try to get FPS Russia and Hickok45 involved (see YouTube if you aren't familiar). Both are obviously pro-gun. Both have a HUGE following (especially FPS). I all likelihood we don't want to have as either as an official spokesperson, but they can get a message out to millions in a very short period of time. FPS's "suit case gun" has over 1.3 MILLION views already. The video has been up for 5 days.

For those who don't know, FPS Russia is a character. The guy doing the videos is an American. Not sure if he'd break character to get a message out, but we absolutely want him on our side. If nothing else, he appeals to a lot of different people. Hickok45 (IMO) can drone on at times and his videos aren't nearly as popular. However, he does have a large following that we should try to tap into. I am sure there are other "pro gun" YouTube channels out there. We need to get everyone we can on board.
