CMP Service grades back in stock

I finally decided to get myself a Garand - mailed in my order form yesterday for a Service Grade. I'll post up some pictures when it comes in.

How much is a WRA SG? I'd take one of those over a WRA Field Grade.

I guess it depends on your school of thought really. I'm into the rifle for about $1,050 but I have to factor in gas and time. I just hope someone finds the historical significance of the Winchester 13 receiver group appealing so that I can recoup some of my funds from today. but like I said if there's no interest in it at a decent price point I'll probably just put a 308 Barrel on it and keep it as a mix master for my collection.

You could strip the win down to the receiver and sell it all by itself on gun broker for $700 or maybe more. Then just buy a cmp 308 for $1030-the minus the receiver price. You get a nice new shooter 308 and a pile of parts for about $400

Good idea except piles of parts tend to turn into rifles around my house, lol...i'm to the point where i actually don't have enought time to shoot them all!

I under stand that....I'm not a 10/22 fan but one ended up in my safe and now awaits its turn to be finished with a new stock .

Hmmm...i wonder. Anyome pit there in TV land know if they're the same number? The guy at the counter today asked me if i had my customer number memorized after i jotted it down on the order form.

Just checked mine are not the same

Not the same, you get a CMP number when you sign up in the Comp Tracker

so you can sign up in comp tracker before shooting a match or clinic ? good to know if true
CMP really needs to do something with their comp tracker web site. My daughters softball league score and stat web page is easie/betterr than cmp.

From what I remember you need to sign up but then get approved from CMP? I seem to remember having to send an email or something.

I think your math is a little off, Mac :D

Win13 $1019.30 including sales tax
CMP .308. $1030.00

=$2049.30-$700 for the Win13 receiver=$1349.30 for a .308 rifle and a pile of parts...so...not bad i guess, but not $400.

I actually probably should have just left and not bought a rifle, but i just couldn't bare to come home empty handed after all the bs and fussing with my chick to 'let' me go. Other option is looking for an h&r receiver and building that up from the parts off the win 13 to get my 'correct' HRA...the only thing i'd need to get is an oprod and rear sight aside from a stock.

Oh I thought you picked up a Cmp service grade wins that where selling for $830
Even still you can strip the win and part out the win parts and still get ahead of the game.

Well depending on what you have for other win parts average sold price I seen on GB for Win receivers was $675

Win13's or just regular winchesters? If i can get a decent amount for the Win13 i could definitely fund a 'correct' HRA build and have the satisfaction of knowing i did it myself.

The guys at the store would NOT ship it w/o a plane ticket AND i had to pay sales tax. I made them scrounge up a lock for my trip through the gauntlet though...nj, ny, ct, and into ma. Kind of disappointed by the whole experience, really, but it is what it is.

There are NO other Winchester parts on the Win13 service grade.

odd they wont ship it but the sales tax is hard to beat as your in the store or point of sale? Sorry no specific Win 13 info on the quick look on gun broker but all but a few Win on GB sold for north of $1000

First of all, I have no idea what I should be taking pics of so forgive my noobness. Second of all, the damn thing bit me so now my blood is fused with the wood and metal. Like I said: noob.

Did you order a standard service grade for $730 and get a Winchester?
If so if say that's incredibly lucky as I thought they were only supposed to be sa/hra
