bipod suggestions

what brands to get? what brands to absolutely avoid?
installation should be very basic based on what I have seen.

Been using Harris for years. Never had an issue.

Atlas is top of the food chain.

Harris is the standard bearer.

Caldwell is the value choice. I have two, including the pivot model. Work fine for me.

Like anything it depends on what you want it for, how much you need it and what you want to spend. I have some cheapo Blackhawk Walmart jobs on some of my plinkers for bench duty and they do just fine. Harris units on my hunting rifles. Nothing above a Harris, but my life or the shot of the century nor life and death revolve around any of my bipods. Harris makes a great product and they are well regarded and all said, not really priced that much above in total dollars spent over a cheap rig.
