My wife and I were discussing, she wanted to know how these guys could get guns - especially machine guns in France. I then pointed out they also had an RPG - no pics that I have seen but the reports earlier indicated it.

I told her, with enough support outside and inside a country you can get anything in or out.

I also cautioned her that it's just a matter of time before something like this (or many somethings like it) happen here. I then reminded her I carry everywhere and always - because I would prefer to at least have a chance at taking them out first.

Our borders are almost non-existent, Koran, prayer rugs, and arabic translation books have been found along the border. It's just a matter of time. Do we live in fear, no; do we submit, no; we live our lives as we see fit with means to defend them.

Green berets. The only other unit wearing green berets are the navy commandos, but they wear it like the Americans and the Brits, with the insignia on the left, as for the legion and the rest of the french forces, we do it properly, with the insignia on the right. Can't get the pic big enough to see a number anywhere, but I'll know by tomorrow what unit exactly. My guess would be second infantry. Can't be the airborne regiment, we have a different insignia on the beret. Can't be cavalry. Their insignia is silver. So, either second infantry, or first or second combat engineers.

I worked with the French for a decade in my last job. While the country is economically socialist, the French people are very Nationalistic. When you come to France, you're expected to become French - speak the language, assimilate with the culture, etc.

I don't see the French putting up with this bullshit.
