300 annually!!!! Oh my f*cking god. That's mass murder!!!
How many deaths were due to OD'ing on chocolate or superlative chronometers going horribly awry?
I can answer that actually. Well, not the OD'ing on chocolate, but at least firearms v. non-firearms deaths.
So the swiss number a *FIREARMS RELATED* suicide rate of 1 per 25K or 4 per 100K. The US is @ 5.5 per 100K. MA is 1.75 per 100K.
Now, for all suicide attempts for MA and the US. 7.5/100K for MA. 11.03/100K for the US. All of the above are 2007 numbers including the swiss numbers which were said to have been 2007 in an article I read this morning.
I can't give you Switzerland's non-firearms related suicide stats. I have been working on this in the few spare moments I have here and there for the last few weeks. But I have dug up enough to tell you that the big fraud here is the anti's throw in suicide numbers to pump up the numbers. But when rosenthal throws in the suicide numbers, he does so for the exact opposite reason. He is trying to show that our death rates are so much better, because people don't kill themselves with guns.
So in MA, 5.75/100K non-firearms suicides and 1.75/100K with firearms 7.5/100K total.
In the US, 5.28/100K non-firearms suicides and 5.28/100K with firearms for a total of 11/100K.
That looks damning, doesn't it?
Problem is, correlation != causation. The suicide rate in the North East is much lower than in the rest of the country so you can't say that the MA non-firearms is equivalent to the US non-firearms suicide rate. What this is telling me, someone who went to school and got a masters degree based on a thesis in population studies, is that there is absolutely a replacement, in MA at least, of non-firearms methods where guns are less available. I would love to see what scientific proof they have.
I am going to post this somewhere when I get it complete, but utter BS comes from these people's mouths.
