Huh? Leaving his duty station to go see a porn star, while in uniform? Dereliction of duty is not a big deal? This is not that big of a deal and certainly not something to ruin someones life and career over.

Two words. Repeat after me: ON DUTY.How old are you LenS??? are you going to tell me that you have never made a mistake?? or done something stupid in your life? Ever go to a strip club?? look at porn??? Oh of course not.. all of you are perfect. angelic. Pleeeeease........... he made a mistake.
There's the money......But on top of all that, the BIG DEAL is lying about any of it...no matter how trivial the matter you simply can't lie about it...
Two words. Repeat after me: ON DUTY.
The LEO's in that town sit in the parking lot at closing to make sure it's cleared out without incident. The only reason it's a friggin media circus is because the broad was a celebrity type midget. I'm sick of all the cop bashing. All I'm saying is that there is more to this story that wasn't made public. Everyone automatically believes what's on the news and that is just ridiculous. So since that PD has such a wonderful reputation, it's not possible that maybe he pissed off the wrong people and they screwed him over after he had a lapse in judgement?? Is it not possible that they twisted his words to say he was lying and when he called them out on it said he was insubordinate?? Maybe he resigned because he was sick of dealing with with all the drama. Just saying...
Thanks John. But I wasn't looking for make-up points. I was trying to make the point to misbehaven that just because you disagree with someone or someone's post is no reason to act like a child and hit someone with neg rep points. Hell, most of us disagree with one another a fair amount of the time, but being gentlemen we are "free to disagree without being disagreeable"!
This is not that big of a deal and certainly not something to ruin my life and career over. I also think the officers I worked with are nothing but hypocritical fisters.

I think the chief was more p**sed off about the guy perjuring himself than anything else. -Mike
Richard! Should you be posting about this? You know you have the right to remain silent, right?
(in full disclosure, the above quote was edited for comedic value)
Cop bashing? I regularly get accused of a number of things here on NES, typically as an apologist for police, but cop bashing? That's a new one.I'm sick of all the cop bashing.

When I was handed a badge many years later, I always made sure to abide by all laws while driving a cruiser as well as interacting with the public in uniform. Yes, I know that many officers blow lights/stop signs/blow by pedestrians in crosswalks on a regular basis (when no emergency exists) . . . it reflects poorly on them and their department, but I'm not their bosses so I just shake my head and keep on going.
I have reached the point where the next Mass statie that tailgates me to get me to move over on the interstate is getting a call to 911, reporting a case of road rage (since they're now telling us that speeding and tailgating is road rage. .] I'll just report the plate and let the officer explain it to his supervisor.
Got me out of a speeding ticket, once.
The best part is from the fox article: "Bennett was in uniform at the time of his visit to Club Alex's in Stoughton and was reported to authorities by at least five other officers, said Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany." I think it's hilarious that 5 other officers were there to see Bridget the Midget.
Chief Shastany tells Snyder's Stoughton that he made it clear the day he came as to the way he wanted to handle regular liquor checks and calls to Club Alex's, a strip club on Route 138. "I told officers that no one goes in there alone. The appearance of impropriety IS impropriety. I want the calls there on the log, and I want officers like guided missiles---to do their job without stopping and ogling. I communicated that quite clearly to the members of the department. This officer went on his own, against three weeks of instruction on what his Chief wanted." Bennett evidently posed for a photo with the diminutive 3'9" porn star outside the club, in full police uniform, according to Shastany.
Did you report the LEO before he pulled you over?
I had an MSP bike trooper that kept weaving in and out of the travel lanes on 495 to try to prevent anyone from passing him.
-Mike
Your version would be more believeable if yesterday's Herald didn't have a quote from the officer who resigned admitting to the mistake. I would be willing to lend more credence to your version being possible, if not for his quote in that newspaper.
Oh, and you completely lost credibility with me when you neg rep'd LenS merely because he does not agree with you. Hell, there are times when we all disagree with each other, but we don't neg rep people for honest differences in opinion.
However, none of you know where I live, where I work or what I know. I might just know know more than you think.

Oh and one more thing. LenS said "as gentlemen we are free to disagree".... well since I'm a woman, does that still apply???
Welcome to Northeastshooters Bridget!
Hmmm, so about what Bennett said to the Herald. He admitted to a mistake. What exactly was he referring to? Did the Herald quote the entire conversation with both questions & answers? NO... He said he made a mistake. Was he referring to the picture? the laser? lying? or all three? Is it possible he was just referring to having his picture taken in uniform?? Without the Herald printing everything that was said then we DON'T know. As i was saying, if you don't know, then don't assume.
and as far as neg rep's go, I don't give a rats a** how many green bars are under my name. And it's not that I disagreed with what LenS said. It was that I disapproved of the LEO bashing. Most of the time I think his posts are spot on. He is obviously much older than I am and has knowledge on a lot of subjects and I respect that. However, none of you know where I live, where I work or what I know. I might just know more than you think.
