show us your 1911s

Here's the "Mutt" I built. Essex frame (Island Pond, double digit) and Colt NM slide.

I can't shoot a 1911A1 for beans, but my friend, the Bailiff in Springfield (Mass) can hit a torso sized target 1/2 to 2/3 the time at 100 yards.

I do far better with an M9 or G19.

Top to bottom:

Caspian/Para race gun .38 super double stack

80 series gold cup .45 ACP

grandpa's WWI 1911 (5 digit serial number!) it had 66 years of rust and neglect hence the refinish job and new parts... will hit a torso at 100 yards all day...

Para P12 .45 ACP

Cold defender .45 ACP - last new 1911 I bought (1998),

Heron, how do you like the straight trigger on your race gun? Was it difficult to get used to?

pretty easy transition as its a shorter stroke - I shoot that pistol quite a bit though - more than the others combined... I use a Chip McCormick straight trigger on my 3 gun AR as well.

Midway sells the grip in two different colors, not really sure how they come from the factory. I would assume you could get either variation! Desert tan and OD green. I think can also get black ones.
