I've got an old Uzi inbound. I'm tempted to SBR it and put an 8" bbl on it. Unless somehow that's extra-illegally or something. (Outside of the paperwork and such.)
. . . hold up. You need fingerprints even with a trust???? Honestly. Because if I was going to do this illegally, I'd certainly fill out the paperwork first. Ugh.
I buy NFA items both individually and within a trust. My primary reason for having a trust was simplifying the probate process. You can have a trust set up with only you as the Settlor. This way when you file a form 1 only you provide two sets of prints on ATF print stock. You then name your Co-Trustee and Successor Trustee and Beneficiaries should you one day transcend to a different plane. The downside of this setup, you must be present when the NFA item is in use. You can’t let your kid take a silenced SBR into the woods without you. The upside is if you wake up and say I want a Q Trash Panda you don’t need to chase down all the identifiable persons in the trust for signature and prints.
I’ve said this many times here, trust or individual Silencer Shop simplifies this process a lot. Once your prints and trust are loaded you just eSign the forms and they handle all other submission tasks, they prepare the packet for the ATF and inform your CLEO, here in PA they use the AG.
