I think you underestimate the capabilities of the mighty $6 Pinty red dot.

(Answer: the dot is simply witnessed at a higher elevation)

There's a good market and application for those. I've seen airsoft larpers putting on 'reeeel steeel' aimpoints and EOtechs on their AEG rifles lol.

I have been running an RMR (Gen 1) on my AR for years. Multiple trips to Thunder Ranch and multiple courses. A lot of hard use. Never faltered. Never turn it off. Swap the battery out every other year.
