Why the hell do so many people think it has to be "organized" by an "official organization"?

If you want to go in support, then show the **** up. If you don't, then shut the **** up.

What the anti-gun people are trying to do is portray. us gun owners as a bunch of nuts. Walking around the front of the state house with tactical holsters, and concealed carry badges. Well you picture it.

NES is 100% NOT on board with this.

I think I am going to have to put an 'in' for this one. I would rather a NES, GOAL (or other specificaly pro 2A group) but at this point I will take what I can get. If someone better posts plans before this happens I will hold off. Paying the bills sucks (then again I may be laid off by that time and be free to go to everything).

"Nizzie Bean" and James P Gray (libertarian party vice president)

I don't find anything wrong with this picture. But if looks mean so much to EddieCoyle, I think he should just do us all a favor and just come out of the closet already.

Mr. Gray is a brilliant man. We could all learn quite a few things from his ideologies. I'm a bit biased as a card carrying libertarian.

I don't see the problem with the picture, if anything it legitimizes the younger man's message and organization. I personally have not met nizzie bean, but I know quite a few of his very close friends and organization associates. These are not slouchy kids. Rough image wise? Some of them may be a bit, but mental prowess wise, these are smart people.

Personally, I'm not one to judge based on aesthetic. He's shaking the hand of one of the smartest VP candidates to ever grace this country's ballot box. It counts for something in my book.

I'll 100% be there for this.

GOAL has received several inquiries about a group attempting to hold Second Amendment demonstrations at the capital buildings all across the country on February 8th of the this year. Other than what is posted on their Facebook page there is very little known about them or what their goal is. https://www.facebook.com/events/406312512782872/ GOAL staff made several inquiries and received no substantial answers.

We at GOAL are always eager to see people standing up for their civil rights and have enjoyed all the support that has come our way in the last thirty years. That, being said we are not in a position to endorse a groups actions whose identity and mission has not been publicly expressed. Aside from those issues, Friday is a very slow day in the State House. Most legislators are conducting business in their local offices on that day.

In a more effective move GOAL is currently working with legislators to move whatever legislative “gun” hearings that may be forthcoming, out of the State House. It is our hope to get these hearings in a more central location and to have them held at an hour when most people are not working. This would be the time for lawful gun owners to express their views to an audience of legislators who will be there.

In the end it is a personal decision for all gun owners as to whether this February demonstration is an effective use of your time and we will certainly respect those decisions.

This is the Facebook page of the group who is 'organizing' it.

Thoughts: more people means more media coverage likely
Seems like these people have done these things before. Have any of you?
Should we be dividing ourselves so our enemies don't? Or is it better to stand up with all who wish to defend the 2A so our numbers are larger?
If people from this group get nutty, we could all be painted by the same brush.
Their message/stance seems the same as ours.

Good event to take part in!

I am a life NRA and GOAL member and will take part in this event in support of our Constitutional rights to bear arms. I know this group fairly well and are active within the Boston area to "audit the Federal Reserve Bank" and other liberty projects. It is a liberty oriented organization and stand by the US Constitution and the beliefs our founding fathers established many years ago. They believe in "No" regulations of firearms and thus totally pro gun.

I strongly suggest that everyone come and take part in this pro "Second Amendment" event!

Thank you,

Stephen Rogerson

It's no wonder the anti's crush us at ground level tactics. They don't give a SHIT what their numbers LOOK LIKE, only that they show up. "We" on the other hand, apparently don't like to mingle with people who wear certain shirts, smoke a little weed or wish they had something other than fiat currency in their pockets even if they are willing to march on the Statehouse together with us to support the right we claim to hold sacred. At this point, GOAL should be begging anyone with a pulse to show up in droves anywhere, anytime to make our voices heard. As far as I'm concerned, the only view that needs to be "addressed to an audience of legislators"
is KEEP YOUR GODDAMN HANDS OFF MY CONSTITUTIONAL LIBERTIES. These people need to be reminded, loudly and by many people that they have no authority in matters of INALIENABLE RIGHTS. It doesn't matter what these people look like.....who are we trying to impress? The asshats in the statehouse that look at us as backwoods peasantry? The neighbors who think we're scary because they saw us with a rifle case? Politics is a numbers game, just ask the loons in San Fransisco.

I'll be there.

We really should reach out and introduce ourselves officially (someone should get in touch with GOAL/terraformer/Derek to see if they are all on board with this, this could be a huge opportunity to double the size of our network for MA, they are SUPER active)

Do you sit in a Bean bag chair and smoke dope all day......[slap] You are kidding right?

Good opinion and comment, we need to support this "second amendment" event and let these leftist politicians know our opinions!!!!

lol conceal carry sheriff badges

And empty thigh rigs. And Shemaghs. And ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream. And probably pizza in mom's basement for COD Team Death match afterwards. Gotta be in by 10:00 though.

well the empty holsters doesnt sound that bad if open carry is not permitted in boston city limits. honestly i dont know the local laws there

better than sitting at home with your thumb up your own ass.

I get Goal and NES not getting behind this. I do- you don't want to back an unknown, and you don't want your initial splash in something like this to be weak ass shit- it's like a product launch: you only get one shot and you need to make it good.

But the people hopping on here and bandwagonning moderators like queers, or ripping on the looks of people (and in NES? it's like burn victims making fun of the looks of miss america contestants) is weak ass shit.

Critique the method. Don't nut punch the peers that are aiming for the same end game.

Can't say that I do, but the shooting community has the old straight camo fat white guy club image, and it's not working in our favor just in case everyone didn't notice. We have, by default and non action, alienated most young people, racial minorities, women, etc because we are dominated by a dying breed and refuse to actually get out of the 1950s with the good ol boys. New blood isn't a bad thing, especially if its young and energetic. I don't care what they look like or what they do, they are fighting harder for the constitution than 99% of the people on this forum.

Can anyone tell me the last time they stood in front of the federal reserve in 20 degree weather handing out pamphlets about the fed? They do it constantly. I don't care what they smoke and wear, they are doing more than we are to change things. If they are as dedicated to our cause as they are to the audit the fed cause, we will gain 10x more ground than we are now. They actually hustle and work, we talk online.

I've been discussing with the event organizer for Boston.

Personally I think his heart is in the right place, namely taking a stand for our rights.

I'd like to see better execution but will give him props for taking the bull by the horns and making things happen. Hopefully they will learn from any mistakes made and move on from there.

I hope he gets a good turnout and something good comes from it.

I think GOAL needs to get on board with this, or risk becoming like the NRA is to the SAF. Why the foot shuffling and resistance?

Right now the antis are organizing a major assault on our rights. If we want to have a chance of stopping it we must be active and visible. A rally with a good turn out won't affect the gun hating moonbat legislators, but it could influence the decisions of some of the legislature who aren't total moonbats. I know that some people here are concerned about how the media will portray us. But face it, the lamestream media already despises us. Even if we showed up in suits, they'd portray us as unfeeling, rich prudes. I hope GOAL and NES change their minds so this rally will have a good turnout. I plan on attending.

I hope so. I'm trying to arrange things so I can go. There's a lot to like about this - mostly that it'll be a bunch of people that aren't (all) old white guys marching on the state house in favor of gun rights.

The worst case scenario is that it will do more harm than good. It seems very disorganized.

Let's face it folks, gun ownership is unpopular in Massachusetts. For something like this to work, we need a concise, palatable, and consistent message. There needs to be a charismatic speaker or speakers (preferably someone young) that can provide pithy, memorable, and relevant sound bites.

Somebody said that the socialist left has us beat in ground-level tactics. They do - because they're well funded, well organized, and they communicate a very consistent message.

This thing looks like it's being thrown together. Flintoid, you're absolutely right - we get one shot at this. I really hope that this doesn't become a convoluted multi-issue event. I think the federal reserve system is evil, and that the war on drugs is a war on everyone's freedom, but if people show up at this event and start waving "End The Fed" and "4:20" signs we're going to look freakin' ridiculous.

Remember the Free Staters' Open Carry March in Keene a while back? That sounded good until they decided to make it an "Open Carry/Women Should Be Allowed To Go Topless" event. I like both guns and boobies, but any positive impact the event could have had with regards to gun rights went out the window as soon as the girl with tits that looked like fried eggs hanging on a nail took off her shirt. I don't even remember if she was open-carrying, I was too busy thinking about breakfast. The whole thing became a friggin' joke. This reeks of something that's going to end up that way.

I felt even worse about it after I read the whole Facebook page on this event. It's painful to get through it. We need a great communicator to front something like this, and it doesn't look like there is one. Maybe they just don't write well or have dyslexia or something. Not that I think there's anything wrong with that - one of the most brilliant people I ever met wrote like Trig Palin on a Slip-N-Slide. But if he was running an event like this, he was smart enough to get someone else to do the communication.

I totally agree with everything they're trying to do here, and commend them for taking action rather than just talking about it. I hope the specific message coalesces somewhat in the weeks leading up to this.

I just wish it wasn't on a Friday. It's the end of the news cycle, and the state house is virtually vacant. It would be much better if it was planned for a Monday so that the legislators had to elbow their way through the crowd to get to work.

That's my critique of the method.

We don't know anything about this group. GOAL has asked for information several times and they have not provided it.

and a [STRIKE=a]good [/STRIKE] great critique at that. You nailed all of the possible issues on the head.

now the question is this: can any of us get through to the organizer to see if we can assist and make it more effective? (or if anything, not make it disastrous) I'm not on facebook- but if someone has an email address of his, I'll gladly start some conversations.

I live too close to this to not participate.
