Official 1911 Pic Thread...

Here's a few pics of my S&W E series SC model. I just picked it up from Paper City Firearms.... Marshall did an absolutely amazing job on it. Cerakoted it lite brown.. it's actually a little darker shade in person. Also had him do some of my preban 30 rd Colt mags as well... He gave me exactly what I wanted, quick turn around... I gots to give him a plug.... !!!! Thank you Marshall!!

Couldn't afford it but I had to jump on it for the price. Colt commercial gov't model made in 1964. Blemishes here and there but mechanically sound with a nice bore. Can't wait to go shoot it tomorrow. I've passed up several pre-70 series Colts over the years because they were too nice to shoot. I didn't want a safe queen. Finally I found one I could throw the credit card on and go shoot it.

We think alike, just waiting my turn.

Sweet addition to the collection Al.

Whenever I see your name as the last poster in this thread, I check to see what you have picked up.

38 Super seems to be gaining in popularity. I have read a bit about the round, but am interested in your thoughts. Is there anything you don't like about it? Are you rolling your own or buying commercial ammo.

Glad to see 38 Super making a comeback and I bet that WC is like a laser.

Thank you Wayne,

I now have three 38 Supers in the safe and there isn't anything about the caliber I don't like. I reload my own but there is good commercial stuff out there, at least until Hilary makes her move. Still love my 45's and 9mm full sized 1911's are good for days when I want "easy". The 38 Super has alot more spunk than 9mm but isn't a huge shock like 10mm! If you want to shoot a 38 Super or two then let me know and you can give several of mine a try at the range.
