Moving to Lowell

Now dig up the PR commercials Boston ran running up to the DNC convention in Boston back in '04.

What charming and diverse neighborhoods Boston was bragging about. Dorchester... Mattapan... Roxbury... Enjoy the night life. Wander through the picturesque 'hoods and interact with the locals. But not the homeless or the gangs. Those were all pushed out for the duration of the convention.

Have you flown out of Logan recently ???
I went to Vegas a year ago, and was shocked to see the artwork ads lining the terminal walkways, aimed at promoting tourism for the various neighborhoods such as the ones you named above. [shocked]

Yes, if by recently you mean around 15 years ago [laugh]

I haven't been to any of the famous places lately either. Dorchester might be all cleaned up these days.

THAT is not a good reason. You can live 1 minute outside of the lowell city limits and not have a problem.

Unless you move to Tewksbury near the Home Depot and Motel 6. That area is a virtual Lowell. Easier to get a permit in Tewksbury I would imagine and you'll need it due to the overflow from Lowell.
 
One of my cousins used to deliver pizza for a Tewksbury pizza shop back in the early 2010s when he was in high school. He refused to deliver to Motel 6 and the Caswell.

Secretaries at work referred to that as the "No Tell Motel"!
 
That sounds like the infamous Grantmoor Motor Lodge in Newington CT. I went there once as a young man with my girlfriend. I was impressed that when you rented a room for half a day you had to sign a release and one of the conditions was you were not a cop. I'm not kidding. The motel was later accused of secretly filming patrons. I never heard what came of that but I always wondered if we ended up in some cheap porno.

Gone now. Bowling alley there now. The DEA and the Tewksbury Police tried to take the property from the family and he beat them in court.

There was also the Rosley in Ayer (?) that was sketchy AF.
Drum Hill Motel was around when i was in HS, but never had the opportunity to visit.

There was a hotel like that in Hyannis also. International Inn I think. They got busted doing the same thing. You could go to the police station and they would tell you if you were in any of the tapes they made, but I didn’t care enough to check.
 
Well if we are comparing sleezy motels, don't leave out the Embassy Suites Motel in Malden. Not to be confused with the "Hotels" of the same name. When I was 18 and driving a cab, had lots of calls to and from there to bring the working girls back and forth. The place was raided many many times. I think it later got sold and became an econolodge or something, seems the name changed but not the people haha.
