Hi, I am interested to apply for machine gun license in MA anyone know or have any info or how much is the license cost

The 03 provides the reason for issue for the class III.

My town viewed it no different than getting a class A.

My former town would quickly approve the MG card but you have to be a collector.
I was told to send it in but did not.

I’m pretty sure nobody GAF up here. The top dog in the county sheriff’s office is the approval person.

OK, to get a MA MG license you must be either a certified law enforcement firearms instructor or a bona fide firearms collector. The law states that the holder of a Federal 03 (Curios & Relics) FFL makes you a collector. This is a simple application and costs $30 for three years.

Once you have that, you complete the same form as for a MA LTC but check off the box that says "License to posses Machine Guns". The cost is also the same as for a MA LTC, $100 for six years.

As others have said, you want to be sure that your town's licensing officer will sign off on the application before you submit it. (A brief friendly chat about your intentions prior to applying.)

Good luck.

E.T.A There is a "Going green" which means becoming a paid member of this site.
There is a "Green Card" which lawful permanent residents in this country hold.
In MA Firearms parlance, a "Green card" is the license to posses a Machine-Gun. They used to be printed on green card stock. They are now a plastic card that is the size/shape as the LTC but has a green stripe across the top. See below.

All kidding aside I’ve got 2 questions:

How does Bruen decision affect green cards in MA?

Does one have to REALLY show they are a bona fide collector to CLEO?…Like show me your 03 book to make sure you have a decent collection?…or just get the 03 and apply…

Do you really think I was being serious?….

You must have a boring uneventful life😂😂
Hard to judge meaning from only two words and an acronym. That is the great failing of non-personal communication.

Me, boring? Hardly. Fortunately I have the many memories, unfortunately I also have the scars, lumps and bumps as testament. [wave]

Oh, and to answer your other question "in my specific case" I just showed them a copy of my current 03-FFL. As I'm sure you are aware, we ultimately have 351 sets of requirements here in PDROMA. :(
