Healey's office considering action against those who bought & sold rifles on July 20

Just a thought, since this whole thing happened, what sticks with me is that we all committed a crime in the purchase of these evil black guns. If I remember correctly you aren't a felon until found guilty, but if our crimes have been recorded during the initial purchase, are we guilty, and now "unfit" to be licensed? Can they use something like that (a "investigation") to deny our ltc's?
Once the law is dispensed with, anything is possible.
I would advise being careful in discussing possibilities like this. The AG's office and other unfriendly folks have been known to cruise NES. Please don't give "them" ideas.

Have you been formally charged, booked, arraigned, tried, and convicted? If no, then you're not a criminal let alone a felon.

If we're down to that, the ONLY - and I mean ONLY - solution is to move out.

Honestly, as far as A-Mass-a-Two-shits and the Constipation State are concerned, I believe this is so. Reorganize where there are more of us then Them. Leave Them in their cesspool to wallow and collapse.
Wow someone has awakened. You don't go out and buy a new saddle for your dead horse. That place is not going to change you are all delusional if you believe it will. It is in a steady downward spiral. Your rights in Ma are like a big turd circling the bowl and it WILL NOT CHANGE. They run the game they don't give a shit what you do or say the numbers are on their side. There are some bright people on this board wtf people get a effin grip they win. They own the casino and you are a janitor in their operation.

One thing I find interesting is where will the dealers that still have mASS compliant killy guns sell them out of state?

I imagine it would only be to other dealers in Liberal controlled shitholes , and for a loss , otherwise it's merely a PARTS gun to anyone in the surrounding states , again at a loss ...

I know, right?! The system we live under still works on the principle of innocent until proven guilty.

Say that when she jams someone up and then offers a plea out that makes them a prohibited person for life. Or better yet when they reapply for their LTC and have to admit on question 4 that they were the defendant in an illegal possession of firearms criminal court case.

No whiskey (yet), just still very new to the firearm owner lifestyle, and as much as I try to educate myself to certain aspects of this, certain stupid questions still arise. And besides, the AR I don't have would identify as a shotgun anyway...

Here's the best advise I can give you as someone who has had guns for around half a century. Run don't walk to the border of Ma. and keep going to the free state of your choice. I like NH ymmv.

Right, you're just someone in possession of an illegal assault weapon, which is of course a crime.

The problem I'm concerned about is personal transfers. I have an elderly relative who legal owns an AR-15. In good health right now. What happens to the gun if It can't be transfered? Just turn it in to the police haha...
it might be safer to sawzall through the lower before transporting it. [thinking]

They just updated the Q&A: guns purchased ON or Before 7/20 are good

Does that mean we are not felons if we bought one 10 years ago, or is that still hanging over us?

ASKED THE QUESTION TOO SOON, answered in later post.

I feel like an idiot for not reading the entire thread before asking

I wouldn't worry one bit. If she decides to prosecute thousands of law abiding gun owners for this, even the libtards will be forced to step up against her. That's millions in taxpayer dollars lost and hundreds of kids with a now felon father/mother who are otherwise productive members of society, all due to her unclear language and overstepping her bounds.

You forgot to mention that most gun owners are not EBT people and have actual jobs. If they are felons it not only hurts the family but the businesses and the state as well

Has anyone mentioned that the proclamation may still ban semi-auto rifles and most semi-auto pistols going forward due to their internal workings?

Have they issued a clarification on that?

How would one interpret this?

Individuals could have bought and sold yesterday, but dealers could only sell out of state on the 20th?

Again...even more confusion

I just noticed something in the FAQ's, "What if I no longer want my gun" it doesn't talk about being able to sell it or even to be able to use an FFL dealer to transfer it to another state...

It looks like they can't be transferred. She'll have the MSP show up at your familie's door when you die to pick up the assault weapons.

At least the swat teams will be appropriately dressed in black. "Sorry for your loss, ma'am. Now please get face down on the floor with your hands behind your back."

Who were these heroes (quote from your linked article):

"But Healey is facing a potential dilemma. On Thursday, rifle sales dropped back to 266 in the state but more than half of those – 143 – appear to be the banned assault weapon types, although there are some exceptions. A spokeswoman said the office would be examining the sales to see if they are outside her order."

Probably lowers thinking they have 7 days, or people at the end of the lines who bought at 2am.

Provided it's illegal to transfer, I support Transfer Day, where two people transfer their rifles back and forth to each other; four transfers in total with both parties ending up with their same gun.

ETA: Civil Disobedience.

Provided the number of people involved made it logistically impossible to prosecute, this doesn't sound like a bad idea.

It could BE a bad idea, but can they / would they prosecute 20k violators?
