The former state lawmaker trounced a Democratic opponent who has an ‘A’ rating from the NRA, with strong support from fervent gun-control advocate New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose PAC poured almost $2.5 million into her campaign.

Bloomberg, an independent and strong gun-control advocate, spent more than $2.1 million in campaign ads to benefit Kelly, who was one of 17 Democrats vying for the nomination. The spending came through his Independence USA super PAC, which began targeting pro-gun lawmakers in the 2012 elections.

The Illinois ads were aimed at Democrat Debbie Halvorson, a former one-term congresswoman, who received an "A" rating in the past from the National Rifle Association.

No, voters sent a clear message that advertising - AKA propaganda - works. Of COURSE you can buy elections that way; why do you think that advertising is a multi-billion dollar industry? Because it WORKS.

Funny part is thinking that voting would have prevented this. Most of these elections are rigged and bought and paid for. And this has been mastered and perfected over the years.

Bottom line elections are useless. The winner almost always seems to be the person most people were trying to prevent from gaining office or removing. Look back over the years you will see what I mean.

Don't forget that this district in Chicago is a majority black district. So the black candidate beat the white candidate. I think that is more the reason for the results than anything else.

And we will be seeing Robin Kelly in jail at some point of time. The congressional district has a tradition. Get elected as a nutty democrat, commit crimes and go to the fed pen. The most recent congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is on his way to federal prison. The previous was Mel Reynolds who committed a number of crimes including statutory rape of a teenage campaign worker and before him was Gus Savage who had issues of forced sexual assault and other stuff but lost his seat to Mel and never faced charges. He was a complete loon though.
