It's been done a million times before. My new summer carry will be either a Sheld or Sig 320 subcompact. Both will be in .40 caliber. Thoughts, price isn't a determinING factor. I like the size of the shield but love the the Sig trigger.

S&W Shield with trigger job, improved sights & talon grips!

Well I definitely don't want a gun with a safety. So 938 is out and I don't want 380 so diamondback is out. Shield upgrade is actually an idea I hadn't thought about.

Not a big fan of the S&W triggers out of the box. Or the Sig's for that matter but never tried a P320. IMHO, a small framed Sig with an SRT upgrade is ideal, at least for me.

Don't know about the Sig 320 but the Shield is the easiest gun I've ever carried. Shorts, T, iwb, not even noticeable to me or anyone else.

For your reading pleasure here is another thread where the topic of Shield vs. xxx is beat to death.

I think I am beginning to see a pattern here...

Go with a Shield, (personally I like the 9mm, less snappy)trigger job, set of HiViz Lightwave sights, MAGGUTS +1 mag upgrade, Talon grips if you're the sweaty type. ;-)

You will then basically have the new Performance Center Shield without the ported barrel, which imho makes no noticeable difference. Or, save yourself the aggravation and just get the PC Shield.

Another suggestion, go to a range like MFS and rent everything you are considering and shoot as much as you can afford. Then make your decision.

Out of those two, I would choose the Sig every time.

My personal experience with Shields has been negative, whereas my personal experience with Sigs has never been negative.

YMMV.

Stick with major caliber go with a G-36. Personally it feels better in my hand than the G-30. If you are stuck on .40 ... I think someone out there makes a kit to convert Glock 10mm's to .40S&W. Have you looked at the Ruger line up?
