Yup, that's what I ended up doing, renewing my expired passport.

Got all my shit together(or so I thought) made an appt with RMV last Wednesday. All I had was a laminated SS card from like 1975 when I got it, RMV wouldn't accept it. My W2, paycheck, 1099 etc, none of that stuff has my whole SS on it, just the last 4.

Wanted to take the cheap way out with REAL ID, since I basically already paid for it when I had to renew my CDL.

Didn't you get the updated talking points memo? Requiring ID is now totalitarian (or if for voting, call it fascist and you can try to work in "new jim crow" if feeling ambitious). And it's always fair game to attack George W. Bush for signing both the National Intelligence Reform Act of 2004 and also the Real ID act.
 
you know for international travel im OK with real ID Or a passport. That’s assuming everybody coming into MY country has the same...I love it. So all these immigrants coming across our borders on the south need a “real ID”. It’s kind of funny “, you don’t need any documentation to get your $20,000 unemployment check if you come from a Third World country. I’m too busy trying to keep the lights on over here....

I wish there was another country in the world that I could just illegally enter and get paid $20,000 and have them building me houses. I’m gonna start self identifying as a illegal immigrant.....Take it one step further. I’d rather pay these people to stay in their own f***ing country

Yeah the churchs being closed, and gun store are not essential. Really rubs me the wrong way. Sorry I had a meltdown earlier I just spent 12 hours trying to figure out how to get my government handout. Somehow I don’t qualify for a goddamn thing. But if you really read between the lines. They are just giving money away to everybody....I hate the idea of even taking the money but after watching everybody around me just rake in cash for doing nothing. Really f***ing pisses me off

Yup i know that, trouble is I'm down to my last one and the City offices were closed due to the China Virus...

I'm going to check now that things are freeing up some, maybe they are open now so I can get more or maybe they will do it online and mail them to me... I just have to contact them...

My Wife and I got ours online. One city and one town and never spoke to a human.

Sadly, the whole thing is already watered down. For example, guess which of these is found on REAL ID?

Just hint at amending it to make REAL ID mandatory on May 3, 2023 not just to fly, but also to vote in the 2024 federal election. [pot]

Global Entry:

There is now a 24 month grace period after you submit a renewal.

I am due in June of 2022.

I can apply one year early.

I submitted my application and now my current Global Entry card is good for one year beyond expiration.

My old login and user name did not work.

I reapplied and entered my info and now I have a new user name which is my email and made a new password.

Don't get frustrated if you old user name does not work.

You will need you're current card and passport to renew.
Mine has been submitted and I would like to drive to Burlington VT for an adventure and get my pic taken there.
Shorter wait times.

CT and Boston have longer wait times.
 
Just renewed my driving license, just got my new one with the gold star in corner, received it couple of days ago. Looks the same as any other license but with a gold star. Don’t see an issue, they already know who I’m, with multiple state LTC’s, two passports, Global Entry who I’m I hiding from? Easy to do, take some documents to prove who you are and bingo done.

Bigger fish to fry, rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
