So, if SBRs are pistols, making an SBR “rifle compliant” by pinning the stock, not having a lug and having a pinned brake would still violate the MA pistol AWB, right? It is, but not all MA evil features make it an AOW. Really none of them do. The only one I can tell (as someone who isn’t well versed in the NFA) is: “(ii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer”. Vertical foregrip on a pistol = AOW.
MA Assault Weapons Ban "AWB" FAQ
Background: What is the MA AWB? The "Assault Weapons" ban in MA is almost a verbatim version of the Federal AWB that existed from 1994 - 2004. This is how it is currently encoded in MA law: http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter140/Section121 The "Assault...www.northeastshooters.com
Weight, threaded barrels, handguards, where the magazine attaches don’t make a pistol an AOW.
You always need to comply with federal and state law. NFA always all the time. MA AWB for anything post-94 or unless you have a MA dealer license (federal FFL of any type does not exempt you).
But threaded barrels are allowed on pistols…this is a good subject to debate because if you put three guys in the room, each guy would say something different. One would say it’s a pistol one would say it’s a rifle and one would say it’s nietherNo, there is a pistol AWB as well.
She can with executive order. Who will challenge it the legislature? The AG? They can actually do as they please even through the legislature and we can all wait and see how it will play out in court which is lengthy and expensive.
Convincing a MA jury of your peers that building a rifle doesn’t mean you “obtained” it. Good luck with that. Better hope all 12 are from NES
I just ran through GOAL’s website on my phone. I didn’t see anything about these slides?..I may of missed it but how can Police enforce something that isn’t law?At least dealers are. There’s slides in the new training deck provided to police departments that describe the edict, what to look for, and says it’s a violation. Slides are on the GOAL website.

Healey administration begins training police in how to inspect gun dealers amid concern laws aren’t being enforced
Why would local cops want to bite the hand that feeds them? Where else are they going to get their new AR 15's, AK 47's, and Glocks at reduced prices? If they give the shop an unlawful difficult time, then they shouldn't be surprised when nobody will conduct personal sales with them. Just...www.northeastshooters.com
