Sadly it won't matter. I know I read this but unsure if it was here, from GOAL or a snews story online, but it was reported that almost all the state reps/sens are running unopposed this election cycle. The opposing party isn't even putting up a candidate for most positions, so as long as the incumbent votes for himself, he/she has a lock on continued employment.

It's a sad state of affairs but that's what makes MA a lost cause.

Come on, Len, give us SOME ray of hope! [laugh]

How's this for a ray of hope . . . ?

My Wife read the AG's letter, advisory, Legislative letter, etc. and she is now sitting in her home office looking at houses in Pelham, NH. I didn't ask her to do this and only know (her office is ~50' from my office) because she asked me "how much do you want to spend on a house?"

She told me that one woman in her group moved to FL and works remotely from there, so I told her to have a chat with her boss next month (her office moves to Somerville the last day of this month) about continuing her job from NH!

I love my Wife!! [cheers]

I'll still support GOAL and Comm2A's efforts here, but does that crystalize my level of confidence here? [angry]

I think there's a good chance that this could get walked back in this coming week after the Leg or someone else on Beacon Hill sees the howl that's gone up over this.

If that doesn't happen, we are in for a hard, bitter fight in the courts, and it's one we are likely to lose. This has been the straw that broke the camel's back as far as moving to NH. I like the convenience of being close to Boston in a town where the local PD will give me an unrestricted LTC, but, this means I am done. The moonbattery will eventually cross the state line, but, by the time that happens, hopefully I am ready to retire to somewhere in the Southwest where they still believe in the rule of law.

Because 2000 (maybe) out of 6,700,000 residents showed up to bitch about something?
not all 6m are voters, and only 2m voted in the last election. 25k signed the petition, so there are a much larger contingent that supports the 2A

Way the general public sees it.....not all guns are banned....just the Killy looking ones.....so they will say...look we didn't ban all guns! That will satisfy 75% of the voting public.

At this point, I'm planning on permanently moving to a red or swing state. Besides shitting on the Constitution and favoring Socialism, Massachusetts also turns me off from its nanny politics, cost of living that's much too high for very little benefit, and the crumbling roads and bridges that are left neglected for decades; endless patches, potholes and missing markings galore. Drive through most of the 128 overpasses to see what I mean. The commonwealth will always have a special place in my heart as the place I was born and raised in, but I'm quickly losing my patience with this place. I don't feel like this situation is going to get any better. This whole thing with Healey was just the final nail in the coffin.

Even in Ma. they have always been careful not to go full retard.
The last round of proposed laws is evidence of that.
Most of them simply want to cruise along and run for their unopposed seats and do business as usual.
Why rock the boat when you have it made?
My feeling is that Maura has no long term plans in Ma.
Maybe Hitlery has already promised her a nice spot, who knows.
I don't think even the ones that aren't particularly 2A friendly are appreciating the shit storm she brought down on them.
Baker is just a f*cking coward and just self limited himself to being a one term wonder.

I'm afraid for MA but I'm very cautiously optimistic for the reasons stated above. If something awful for the 2nd Amendment had to happen, it couldn't have happened a better way for us as gun (human) rights activists. The way she did this was so brash and brazen that even people who agree with Healey's reasons are questioning her tactics. This is not how representative democracy is supposed to work and a lot of people are coming around to realizing that. If it does, however, turn around and some semblance of liberty is restored, it's probably going to be a difficult and protracted struggle.

I'm still getting TF out of here ASAP though. The snow for a person in a wheelchair such as myself is already reason enough, but the politics around here are atrocious and I can't take it anymore.

I am actually hoping for total firearm confiscation. That will be the final nail in the coffin of this Constitutional Republic and will energize hundreds of thousands to overt action to take this country back. The slowly boiled frog doesn't realize until it's too late that he's cooked. The frog that had the heat turned up all at once is burned and either jumps or dies. It's far past time to jump...

Cute but that's not happening in MA either. The state has to spend money to make that happen, a lot of it. And moonbats in this state traditionally don't like spending money on gun control, that instantly turns into a huge pork allocation battle. Even MA moonbats won't vote for pork if it
means that millions will be taken away from (insert some special commie/socialist project here)

Think no different than CT or NY AWB revisions, or even that of CA. They aren't going to confiscate shit. It's way cheaper for them to **** gun owners up front "on paper" and leave us all with our ass in our hands than it is for them to do something provocative that would set off a firestorm of bad shit.

Unicorn scenario: AG completely stripped of all regulatory authority with regards to firearms, regulatory ability is transferred to EOPS which generally has a less retarded interpretation of the laws than what the AG does.

Best case scenario- court or legislature nullifies the AGs bullshit somehow; shit goes back to being mostly "normal".

Worst case scenario- legislature nullifies AG bullshit but replaces it with a new revised AWB that has some time windows in it. We end up with shitty mc shit new AWB with all old crap grandfathered in, just like CT.

Don't believe this 'decree' will stand as stated with deadline only because of the way it was released and communicated.

BUT it will open the door to making the same restrictions through legislation once the libtards see the potential.

I voted probably overturned - but it will take years - and most of us will be out of this state by then.

My wife told me that she might be changing jobs due to a buyout deal at work. Great I said, we are out of this state. She said where too:

If Trump wins (and monkeys fly out of my butt - sorry guys not going to happen Kaine is the nail in that coffin) - NH and keep fighting up there. Keep it from turning anymore purple/blue than it is.
If Trump loses, TEXAS. Then I will start flying my Republic of Texas Flag and get on with Glenn Beck's 'T-EXIT' bandwagon.

It will probably get overturned, on the basis that she overstepped her authority, but by then the legislature will have made it a law.

I felt the same way and moved. You are correct that the Commonwealth is always "home", but that wasn't a good enough reason to stay. I miss Boston and miss friends and family. But guess what? That's what they make cars and planes for. You can always visit to get your fill.

I wish we were hearing something from Comm2A. No doubt they are working but this radio silence is killing me.

Here's what I think.

We need to keep breathing fire at these politicians .Goal is helping us in the fight but there is more we can do as an independent .

Educate people on this tyrant law. Keep calling every f'ing day. Being optimistic will ruining your morale in this fight.

We need to set an example for other states. Other states are watching us closely. Whatever the outcome is.

Guys this is serious. We need to stop bitching and do whatever it takes to win this fight.

I wish we all could meet up regarding an agenda for a protest. I hate posting ideas on this forum just in case someone's trolling.

Just think guys. If Black Lives Matter can cause an uproar. We can also do the same in a peacefully manner.

It is not a good idea to telegraph your punches. I expect it will take Comm2A months to research the law and precedents to determine if we have a case, and then more time to draft a lawsuit.

It will be years before this can be resolved in the courts.

I know, I know. I just keep hoping to wake up to a lawsuit being filed.

I know the feeling. Speaks to how F'ed up this whole situation is. We law-abiding are jumping from one foot to the next trying to figure out how we're expected to comply, hoping for some legal resolution to this crap sandwich, while the actual criminals just go on as if nothing has happened. This doesn't affect them in the slightest.

I think that from our legislature we'll get nothing. They quite frankly don't give a shit. From the courts? Well, from my research of the 1994 Federal law I think there we have a shot. Of course, if the Braying She Ass wins the whole nation is screwed, but I actually think Trump is probably going to pull this one off.

Realistically, the 2nd amendment is dead in MA. This isn't likely to be overturned by the legislature or the courts due to their current political makeup. Best case scenario some little portion gets dialed back, but even that will be temporary as the next major news event(s) involving guns will trigger the legislature to enact permanent law that will oppress gun owners as usual.

I'm thinking slim chance since there has been precedent set for over 20 years but we live in Mass where the constitution is used like toilet paper.
