Non Leathal Options i.e. Mace

NO.

MGL c. 269, s. 10(b) prohibits switch blades, ballistic knives and holsters that open a knife as it is drawn. It does NOT constitute a blanket prohibition on carrying knives.

I demonstrated a Kershaw assisted-opening knife in front of:

1. An Assistant Attorney General,

2. TWO EOPS attorneys;

3. A Chief of Police; and

4. A State Police lieutenant.

No-one fainted, nor was I seized, arrested, detained, charged or otherwise interfered with. And I left with the knife.

SOME cities and towns may have ordinances, most likely prohibiting sheath knives and/or knives over a certain length.

I miss You![smile]

Get her a Surefire E2D flashlight.

There are other flashlights out there with a crenellated bezel.
Hit somebody with one of these and they will draw blood.
Lawful to carry anywhere, fits in a pocket or purse easily.
They are bright enough to disorient people during daylight.

Any chance she could take a big ugly dog to work? They often get more respect than a gun. A young woman friend of ours lived in Harlem for 10 years with her Great Dane/Boxer mix. The sidewalks would empty in front of them. The pooch was a couch potato luv muffin, but she had a mug that looked like she'd put you in the trauma center if you crossed her.
