And there you have it... another vindictive soon-to-be ex-wife trading on her husband's good name and freedoms for her own self-gain. As a licensed psychiatrist she knows how to play the game, and is playing dirty. Poor bastard.

DAMN...

During yesterday's continuation of the hearing, Whitehill said Kristine Girard has filed for divorce and questioned her motive for calling police about her husband.

Yup. Now it is clear she is involved and not an innocent bystander.

Check out this little ditty.
Girard's wife, Kristine Girard, also has a license to carry weapons and Whitehill stated that some of the weapons could be hers. Whitehill also said there is no evidence that Kristine Girard wasn't the one shooting in the attic.

Is this troublemaking witch a psychologist or a psychiatrist (M.D., with additional training and board certification in psychiatric medicine). Big difference between the two. The former has less authority than a Registered Nurse. The latter is a full-fledged M.D. and then some, with a lot more to lose by false allegations and perjury.

Sounds like Girard at least has a public defender who is somewhat on the ball. She is sucking in the wife - good move, seeing as how this whole case seems to rest on the fact that the wife called the police.

He's still going to get screwed on something - they aren't going to let him off with jamming him on SOMETHING, but if this is wife vs husband thing she might go down too.

Gee whiz... I wonder how he got six months of prescription medications? Just speculating here... I wonder if the psychiatrist wife wrote the scripts? Yup... she'd be in a heap of crap for that one.

We can only hope she is complicit on something like this...

Yeah, that IS really sad. At the very least, I doubt he'll be able to get his LTC-A reinstated after this. Friggin' "may issue" bullshit.

She filed for divorce, this poor sap is in jail and his life is being destroyed before his eyes. After all is settled, he may decide to do the right thing and leave this socialistic hellhole of a state for a free state. Then he won't have to worry about LTCs, FIDS, "shall issue", "may issue", "suitable", ad nauseum. He will be able to own what he wants without bureaucratic horsecrap.

This story is disgusting.

MA has effectively abused his civil rights without remorse.

Love to see this guy get cleared, withthe help of a very competant PD!
Then sue the shit out of his ex and the town!

This. Sad, but this.

+1. I have a friend who is a top-notch criminal defense attorney. His opinion is that you never "dump" a public defender until you know who it is. He mentioned the list of certified PDs that cb1 referenced and said that getting a PD is luck of the draw....you might get a mediocre public defender or you could get a very good public defender whose name came up.

If it were me in that situation, I'd p-p-p-probab-b-b-bly end up with thi-thi-this guy...

A beaver has just dropped a tree on my deck. During my lunch at Wendys I comment "i'm gonna kill that litte $*&t when I get back". A police officer hears this, runs my plate and determines that I own X firearms that he would like to have "off the street"...based on the number of firearms and my out of context statement, he figures that the judge will consider me dangerous. He also knows that he will be able to get a warrant to search every inch of all the property I own so he can drum up some charges.

Are gun owners in MA one "out of context" statement away from being thrown in jail? Kinda scary if you think about how someonw with evil intentions could work the system....

Yes, unequivocally, we are. With all tinfoil removed and irrespective of specific circumstances of this case - we are under the current system.

We have yielded FAR too much power to the state to preserve the illusion that they can protect us from "those bad X" where X are:
Drug dealers/traffickers/fiends
Murders/Rapists/Thugs
Terrorists
Ponzi schemers, etc...

my post in the comments section for the online article about this story.

The judge made a decision that Mr. Girard was dangerous based on items he legally owned and things he allegedly said.

He has never committed a crime nor hurt anyone, his own police chief said that Girard posed no threat to the community.

This leaves us with the Judge locking up Mr. Girard because he basically wants to.

So we have in effect a "thought crime"

The judge thinks he's a criminal, so he is.

Kind of reminds me of Communist China.

We need more outrage here folks. Are we not a nation of laws? (I guess we aren't any longer, but we need to force our govt back into its consented corner)
Denninger had a post last night showing that only 20% of voters polled show that they believe the govt is governing by consent. That is a telling thing. According to him 20% was the amount of loyalists during the revolution.

This whole thing really pisses me off. Even more so, are the comments I've seen here and other places about "not wanting him to be my neighbor."

I will tell you now, I would be happy to have this guy as a neighbor, at least he believes in something and was doing something to someday protect him and his family.

We need to use principles every day and when looking at every politician, bill or action in our lives.
We need to reject pragmatism everywhere, as it leads us away from our principles and into the murky waters where the state can ruin a mans life without him breaking a single law.

Most of our laws currently on the books would fall into the pragmatic spectrum, not the principled section. We need to force this back.

I hope others here are meeting up, forming groups to fix this mess we have found ourselves in.

The whole "dangerousness hearing - no bail granted" thing came about as the result of the "War On Drugs".

Drug dealers and gang members were being bailed before trial (there's plenty of money in illegal drugs) and contining in their ways. As they obtained guns on the black-market in the first place they were wholely capable of re-arming.

In the Girard case, he bought all his guns legally through channels. The CLEO revoked his license, and took all his guns.

How can he possibly be considered dangerous now?

An absolute abuse of an already bad law.

I am sorry but MA residents have done this to themselves. If anyone is surprised that this could happen within the peoples republic of Mass. they have been living in a cave for 15 years.

All I can say is just stay out of our state as we still have a chance.

Please. let's not turn this into a New England State 'my laws are better than yours and you guys in MA suck" pissing contest. It's of no help. EVERY CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE A HUGE ISSUE WITH THIS STORY!

Like I posted previously.....he's a political prisoner, plain and simple!

My thoughts exactly Mike.

Thanks!
