There's plenty of people who would jump at it if they could get the presidential nomination. It is a very prestigous position and a lifetime appointment.

You don't have to be a supreme court justice for that to happen, all you have to do is wear a MAGA hat around in any city USA and the lefties will badger you endlessly.

Note also, that the justices now have secret service protection.....you or me.....not so much.

This is what I'm thinking WRT Ford. I think she genuinely recalls something. What actually happened... well only a couple people know and it will never be us. As to the other accusations... given the admission of heavy intoxication at the time they allegedly occurred and the need to "reconstruct" them with the help of a lawyer, and that Avenetti's involvement, I don't believe them at all.

Also, when it comes to Ford vs Kavanaugh, I think the evidence we the public have seen, it's likely, at the very least, it didn't happen as she recalls it.

If anyone actually believes these games and hasn't already made up their minds they need powder their donuts with fentanyl and have a big bite and be gone from the rest of us.

It's like when I was on jury duty, our case was malpractice because some dimwit played basketball after heart surgery and the widow sued. We had ~8 questions that went from "did the doctor caution the victim enough about his post operation actions" to "how much does the widow get". We were all agreed the widow was an idiot, but one guy was hung up on the first question and wouldn't budge, so we couldn't move to question 2.

I said - how about this, let's go backwards? How much does she get - squat. Does she get money - no. Is the doctor at fault - no. And it zipped along until we got to the first question, and we just gave up and gave it to the guy - because the important parts were done.

Can they just stop pretending?
 
If Kav doesn’t blow everyone out of the water with sincerity tomorrow and at the same time have Ford look like she’s just doing this for sport, he’s finished and won’t get enough votes.

It might be coming regardless of what the Rs do from here on out. From a socialist/progressive perspective the time to light the fuse that causes the chaos and disruption necessary for their movement to try to grab control is now. The populist tide is threatening decades worth of work and momentum. Losing the Supreme Court gives them no other options. It’s now or never.
