I went to a certain "free" state today

These weekly threads are so fkn gay...all the time..why dont you come to NH and be free? STFU. Get a life, I love guns, but theres so much more to life than you little toys.

It's not just about the guns. How about being treated like an adult and being able to put the stupid little thing down in the gas pump so you don't have to hold it? I was able to use one in Florida, it was nice, I didn't have to just stand there holding the pump, I was able to go in the store etc. How about being able to light a friggin sparkler, legally, let alone firecrackers. Sorry, but the nanny-state b.s. is aggravating. besides, if you don't like the common threads, be an adult and don't click on it. Problem solved.

Too many idiots in ma.
this one takes the cake.
a sign in a state park today saying to take your dogs hit out with you.

wtf?.
like it doesn't biodegrade by itself in the woods?

Then as i'm going down the trail,
I find Theese retards leaving dog turds in plastic bags all over the trails.
crips, just scoop em off the trail, but no
they leave em in bags that will last 100 years.
p c tards with their turd bags.[sad]

I wish it was so simple to just move away from Family and all of my connections I have made over 40 years along with an almost paid off house..We do have a plan to leave Mass in around 5 years..But we will be heading South instead of North...We fear that moving to NH would only be a short term fix before NH turns into Mass with the dopey laws and ever increasing taxes

SC is in our future it seems!

Look at Maine with all the people from NY,CT and Mass moved up there in the last ten years have changed the gun laws and policies of that state.
I don't know of any gun laws that have changed for the worse.
Home-grown welfare leaches are the problem, not liberal transplants who are molding Portland into San francisco.

And to the property tax . NH is high, Mass is almost as high. Income tax, excise tax, sales tax? NH no, Mass yes. My town has ZERO zoning laws. My permit to carry was delivered to my house. Go on NNEREN.com to find how much house you can buy. We have maybe 5 tollbooths in the entire state. We have two major lakes where you don't even have to process your water for consumption. Even our sin taxes are lower than the surrounding states. Well except for rooms and meals. I pay $2600 in RE taxes with a $500 discount for being a vet on a house and 6 acres assessed at $140,000. This equals about 11/2% a year. And my town is just about in the middle re. rate. Make all the excuses you can. My commute was 96 miles each way in my last job. I averaged about 1hour 40 minutes. And I did all my errands on the way home. I get my State plates and town registration at the town hall, recently renewed my driver's license via email. I will never go south of the border again. For what? A friggin' seat belt violation? And should I ever be stupid enough to buy a bike? No helmet. Those last two tell you how NH views personal culpability and responsibility. And there is also some bragging rights in that we here will never in the foressable future inflict a 7 or 8 BILLION dollar boondoggle so that traffic might move a bit better. FUG Massachusetts.

Oh like freedom ? Remember in Ma. laws define what you are permitted to do. "I can find no law to permit this." has been stated in more than one courtroom in Ma.

In NH laws define illegal acts.

Further;

It is not unlawful to record any encounter with the police.

No mandatory car insurance (good driver + I drive a beater)

Are you guys going to vote for Hilary for president like you did for Obama (twice) and Kerry. Clearly a couple people up there like big government and want more of it

Sorry, I couldn't resist :)

If the republican option is the likes of Brown, Celluci, Romney, Weld, Baker, Gomez does it really matter?

How many Republicans have won in MA in the last 100 years?

How many Republicans have won in MA in the last 100 years?

Well, a quick check showed that Mass voted Republican in the 1980 and 1984 presidential elections. They have also voted in a number of Republican Governors... including NES favorite Mitt Romney then of course William Weld, Paul Cellucci, and John Volpe.

It is not unlawful to record any encounter with the police.

I'd like to point out that a recent Circuit court of appeals ruling makes this also apply to Mass and all the other states in the First Circuit.

Mostly, BS excuses... but for the sake of argument I'll concede there are some legitimate life circumstances that very few have that might prohibit it. At the same time, this is a gun owner forum, and gun owners should know they risk their very lives if they ever have to use their gun in self-defense. That being the case, why bother?

In short though, Stockholm syndrome. Having been born and raised in the white-laced curtain of the upper North Shore, I moved going on 4 years ago, and know many others who have moved... It's surprising (or not surprising?) depending on your outlook how many "libertarians" or "conservatives" have apprehension about leaving. One of the most anti-obamacare people I've ever known was actually apprehensive about leaving due to his health insurance... as a result of living under Romneycare. Anti-socialist want to know how the schools are up here, the list goes on.

MA has a certain way of ****ing you up mentally... This board is a perfect example. That isn't to say NH is some anarchist or libertarian utopia, but there is definitely a stark difference in those who have made the sacrifice to move and those who make excuses why they can't.

Certain MA statists rent up here for a few weeks, put their kids in pub ed at their neighbors expense, and pretend like they have their own 40 acre range and are John Galt and all the wiser, when just months prior they exhibited the same caged mentality as any other ward of Deval. It really warrants some major psychological study.

/rant
Obummas doing it nationally! Hope for all!!!

What's holding me back from jumping the border? I can currently carry a sidearm in both states. If I move to NH it is unlikely I will be able to obtain a non-resident MA CCW. That is a problem because most of my customers are in Massachusetts. So I have chosen to stay and put up with the BS (for now).

Don't forget US Senator Edward Brooke the first popularly elected African American elected to the US Senate (meaning directly elected). Leveret Saltonstall US Senator from 1945 to 1967 and Governor before that. One of the inherent problems today is that many of you simply don't know your history and assume that things have always been the way they are now. This is not the case.

Many of us have seen how drastically things can change in one lifetime. Everyone of the individuals named by CWulf and myself were in office during my life, just because they were GOP didn't necessarily make them good, but Massachusetts hasn't always been the way it is now, and if it can happen here it can and will happen in other states. It's coming to a state near you and it's not coming via your politicians as much as it's going to come from the products of your public education system.

So happy I'm moving to idaho once I'm there I'll take a picture with all my free state guns

Just so you don't feel left out:
Idaho The rejected land of the Northwest. Idaho is composed of the land that Washington State, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana didn't want."
Idaho home of potatoes and the militias that grow them
Idaho .........No, you da hoe
There, now you shouldn't feel any more special than we do. [laugh]
Good luck with the move. Hope you find paradise. (By the dashboard light in your own private Idaho.)
White Feather

BTW, I spent the whole day there on Saturday. Happens any time i feel like it. You can even say the name of the state if you want.

-Proud to be dad every day, a licensed plumber most days, and wish I was a shoemaker on others.

And also, those who say they are "Second Amendment Activists" and run away from the fight.

I support GONH, too, though - after all, NH voted for Obama as well. You can probably keep yourself cool from the wind generated by Mel Thompson spinning in his grave.

How is no mandatory car insurance a good thing ?

I drive a decent car and say you being free and having no insurance driving some shitbox, plow into me and total my car and put me into the hospital.

What happens,do I automatically own your house in NH or whatever you have to sell to pay for everything ?

it enable us to have better prices, as soon as something is made mandatory the price goes up, look at the cost of health care.

ETA I assume no one in MA drives without insurance so you have no need for uninsured motorist insurance

I understand that, but wouldn't a person want to protect himself from losing everything by purchasing insurance ?

I am guessing that in my scenario,my insurance would pay for everything and then come after Twigg, and most likely he would lose everything after getting sued into oblivion by my insurance company..

Just because no-one is making you do something, doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

Yes it is smart to have insurance, but you shouldn't be able to force me to buy it. I buy health insurance too event though it isn't mandatory.

It is just like seat belts and helmets, do you think we should make them mandatory requirements or should people be able to make the decision for themselves.

You'd already be covered by your own insurance. Your policy has protection if/when you get into an accident with uninsured shitbags, which there are a lot of in this state.

Impossible, MA requires insurance to drive.

So you're saying the illegal aliens without licenses driving all over MA have insurance?

Also, people from other states do drive through MA.

Buddy of mine works in claims for Safety Insurance, and deals with accidents involving uninsured shitbags on a daily basis.
