Growing up in the New Haven area, I'm a Pizza snob. Sally's, Pepe's, and Modern are the best. Zuppardi's in West Haven is also awesome.
Basically any strip mall pizza joint within 20 miles of New Haven is going to be better than anything in Boston.
So having moved to the Boston area, I was thrilled when Pepe's opened stores in Watertown and Burlington. Both are very good.
Sally's just opened in Woburn. In New Haven Sally's is my preference for everything except for clam. The Woburn store isn't quite up to speed yet.
If you want a white clam pie, Its all about Pepe's. Get a small at Watertown and it's as good as New Haven. The large pies seem to have thicker crust than New Haven.
