The article said they have been in service for 12 years, I'd guesstimate that each officer probably does a 200 round qualification every year? Maybe 100 rounds? So these guns even being 12 years old probably have a very low round count and are still great gunsSo, every 7-10 years they dump their old handguns? Is that normal?
I wonder what the average round count on them is
not at allUmm...9mm is harder to find than 45 is it not
most police departments get an allotment for a firearm under their uniform allowance. I think there is enough there every year to buy a new gun.So, every 7-10 years they dump their old handguns? Is that normal?

Idk every time a panic hits i feel like there's 45 on the shelf for like 2 days longer than 9not at all
More like the Holyoke PD are a bunch of puss*es who can't handle 45!
Assuming they were maintained, sure. The article said they have been in service for 12 years, I'd guesstimate that each officer probably does a 200 round qualification every year? Maybe 100 rounds? So these guns even being 12 years old probably have a very low round count and are still great guns
Years ago when my town went from 9s to 45 the police chief at the time told me they were making the move because they were worried about over penetration. Not sure how valid that is, but, I would think if that is a concern, then 5.7 is definitely a round that would raise that issue. Why don't cops use 5.7? Sometimes bad guys wear body armor.
They are Glocks my man, If you figure under 3000 rounds they don't need a whole lot of tender careAssuming they were maintained, sure.
Heck they'd barely need a cleaning at that point other than holster lint. They are Glocks my man, If you figure under 3000 rounds they don't need a whole lot of tender care
Not for them …Umm...9mm is harder to find than 45 is it not
They also don't go buy ammo from cabelas.Idk every time a panic hits i feel like there's 45 on the shelf for like 2 days longer than 9
I Thought popularity was 9mm was 1 and 45 was 2
Excluding 22 of course
The assessment found that the department’s lack of training and its aging equipment, including outdated handguns and ammunition shortages, posed a “risk to the community.”
True but i feel like last go round pds were having trouble sourcing tooThey also don't go buy ammo from cabelas.

The only thing with them is the Tritium sights would glow less brightly. The article said they have been in service for 12 years, I'd guesstimate that each officer probably does a 200 round qualification every year? Lol. if Glocks older than 12 years are too old to be safe for cops, how come only Glocks older than 1998 are safe for MA civvies? What asshats... buy M&P Support S&W or better yet get them all old TSW 5906s... haha
Departments when they buy in BULK get a much better price that the Blue Label Program.over $1000 per gun/holster
Plus some shop is getting over 150 G21's for resale
That seems a tad steep to me.
Anyone know the "blue label" price for a Gen 5 Glock 17?
Cripes you can buy a basic G17, no night sites, no optics for about $525 retail from Bass Pro in a free state
