i was told that dark horse gunsmithing and personal defense specialist in south Hadley were both shut down by the atf for reasons related to Glock sales. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Was told they ran afoul of something the atf cared about - specifically purchasing glocks, splitting them into slides and receivers, and then selling them separately. The owner of the shop said the atf didn’t like that they were doing that.

I’m wondering if there’s someone else out there who’s heard what’s going on with either of these shops. The atf stuff is only half of the story here.

Just to point out too, both DHGS and PDS were great shops - very helpful owners and good prices too.

Why would ATF care about that? As long as you do the 4473 I wouldn't think they'd care.

They don';t normally but depending on specifics and modalities involved it might be something else they care about.

Re: split Glock frames / uppers...

I noticed nobody is doing than anymore.

I guess the hammer dropped.

I applaud the brave souls who do choose have a gun shop in this state...all the struggle and headaches of a small business with the constant threat of .gov deciding to target you and wipe out your livelihood.

Thanks.

you forgot to mention all the potential customers who get butt hurt cause shops don't sell their guns at online prices or match four seasons deals and then post here about how the prices suck but they bought a 4 dollar bag of cleaning patches to "help keep the lights on" before they left.

How does something like this get prosecuted? I wonder if they'll try to go after customers who bought from there (even though legal)
