History, like the news media for the past 50 years or so, has been manipulated to project the narrative of the left. Ask anyone under 40 y/o about the old Soviet Union, Iron Curtain, Radio Free Europe, Eastern Bloc European Countries, East & West Germany (that's always a good one!) etc... and most will have a sort of quizzical look in their eyes. They have no f--king clue what you're talking about! For that matter, ask anyone these days about what's going on in Venezuela - again, no f--king clue! Great post Zappa!

I'm under 40, and I remember the Berlin Wall coming down and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Even as a child I knew those were significant events. I grew up with a map in my bedroom, and on that map were countries called the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics," "West Germany," and "East Germany" among others.

Sure, you might find a plurality of people my age who don't know about these things. I don't deny that, and unfortunately the most ignorant and idiotic of any generation tends to also be the loudest and most visible. Don't make the mistake of thinking that we all are that ignorant.

Not painting with a broad brush and never insinuated that anyone was or is ignorant. The point of my post was to indicate that historical events have been altered in a way that suits the lefty narrative of Communism/Socialism being some sort of utopia. The truth is far from that viewpoint - true history points these facts out time and time again.
