We've all spent countless hours talking about guns that most people either have or can easily get....

But what about the more exotic ones? I figured I would make a thread where people can talk about those. So here's my entries:

I'm in the market for a new upper for my AR. I ended up finding some strange belt fed uppers:

This is an MG34 upper:

This is a 22 belt fed upper:

and since I'm showing belt fed uppers, how could one not show the shrike:

So what's your favorite exotic weapon? (It doesn't have to be a belt fed or in the AR family.)

For me, it would have to be a Korth revolver.

Figure at least $5000 as the price of entry. From there your bank account is the limit.

Droooool......

Did you notice the address of Korth USA (from http://www.korthusa.com/) - Korth USA / 437R Chandler St. / Tewksbury, MA 01876 / Tel 1-978-851-8656 / Fax 1-978-851-9462

Probably a one man import operation, since it's a division of Earl's Repair Service but still pretty interesting.

No I didn't. But I bet it's a one-man shop. I bet the Korth factory in Germany ain't that big either.

Not ultra-exotic, but I always liked the look of the MP5. If I had a few extra thousand available, I'd like to add one to the collection with a half dozen high cap mags or so. Along the same lines, I'd like to have a Steyr AUG.

I would go with the HK PSG-1 Rifle, but with a price tag around $10k it's exotic enough that I'll never see one.

And then be upstaged in accuracy by a $1500 FN SPR.

I agree, the FN SPR is an accurate rifle, but I can afford it. The PSG is something I can't and that makes it exotic to me. I also would enjoy the bragging rights to owning one.[wink]

Not if you need to engage multiple targets at the same time. There must be a reason that the M21s and .308 ARs are somewhat popular in the combat zones.

Exotic? an HK MP5/10mm w 1/2/F burst pack.

Otherwise if its going to be in the realm of obtanium I'll take a
Sig P210 longslide.

Or an accurized Rem 700 for that matter. Of course a bolt rifle
will beat most semis, that's pretty much a given.

And neither one of those bolt rifles are exotic, which IMO takes
them out of the running in the context of this thread. [smile]

At least if you're going to upstage a PSG-1, we have to do it with
class... maybe a Blaser R93 or something from Accuracy International. [laugh]

I am talking about precision fire, not about semi-random shooting in combat.

A well trained rifleman can run a bolt action as fast as a semi when making precise hits is what counts. A 308 semi auto has enough recoil that you have to wait for the recoil to be over and your sights to settle again before pulling the trigger. It is during recoil that a skilled rifleman operates the bolt of his rifle.

Pulling the trigger at a faster rate than what you can reacquire a sight picture is wasting ammo.

That's not what I saw on Future Weapons. He shot that there SASS thingy twice as fast as the bolt action. I saw it in the teevee, so it must be true!

Yes, Earl Sheehan is a one-man operation but he also imports Walthers and does retail sales as well from that location. He's a character and his shop is well worth a visit if you've got a fat wallet and are into high-end weaponry.
