One of the most beautiful revolvers ever made … colt 62 police
I think for an IWB carry piece polymer makes sense. It is easier to maintain and lighter. The widespread acceptance of plastic guns surprises me. I'm fine with it: they're not for me, but their runaway success has impressed me. Who knew that all you had to do was replace "plastic" with "polymer" to make people feel great about it?
Also, I got into guns during the AWB. As a guy who used to carry an M4 around, the commercial success of the AR since 2004 surprises me. When I wanted to get an M16 analog to practice with, I had to buy an M1 carbine.
The trend I like least is the rise in the prices of milsurps, especially SMLEs. Grrr.
I learned something about that from a Women On Target attendee I was instructing. Cute as shit, petite little gal who had never fired a gun in her life- not even BB guns nor Airsoft. She had already been given the usual speech that smaller can be harder to control, bigger kick, etc. but she really wanted to try my G43. Despite some literal shaking before the first shot, every single shot she fired was center of mass and she was mag dump gung-ho by the end of the session. Made me wonder who TF was turning our target frames into splinters when a 100% newb with a G43 can hold center of mass.I've also noticed more people just getting into guns now gravitating towards small, fancy featured subcompacts for their first gun. Don't think it's the wisest choice but concealment seems to be the primary focus.
Agreed those are beautiful examples of mechanical art, but be careful you will turn this into a cyclist hater thread LOL. Oh, too late...
I’m old and have a hard tme focusing on iron sights these days. Ive got a red dot on my Glock 19. Lights have become much smaller and more powerful. I now keep a Streamlight tlr7a on my Glock. Unlike my Surefire x300, the tlr7a doesn’t extend past the barrel, so it doesn’t add much bulk.I've noticed a huge increase in people carrying with optics and lights over the last couple of years.

so where does the 400SB Chevy fit into thisJust like the debate between the small block and big block V8's, I say "there's no replacement for displacement".
I might have a pic of the outstanding target she shot.
so where does the 400SB Chevy fit into this
you wouldn't think that from my Camaro, back in the day. Street driven, weekend racer doing 13.2 all day easy. But I never did get it over 160mph, the nose lifts at 160.That's the .40 S&W of the V8 world.
At the last range I worked with and helped with target frames for.... It was always some dude in late 40's with a shiny . 357 Magnum. Or hunters with . 30-06's shooting at beer cans in the middle of the night. (they would setup cans on the target frame. )I learned something about that from a Women On Target attendee I was instructing. Yeah, but why all the extra metal? Shed some pounds, then call us back again later.I still kinda want to shoot one. The low axis seems wild.
I think it has been since the Army adopted it, plus the "wonder 9" years of late 80's. What do YOU think was the "most prevalent round" before then?9mm becoming the most prevalent round
So is S&W the only gun you will buy for now on? Is that what you suggest for everyone?Against getting rid of nfa. Same as daniel defense.
S&W was the only one to give a semi positive answer back.
I think a .223 would be great for hunting coyotes. I also think being seen walking into or in the woods with an AR will get the police on you pretty darned quick. Wood stocks are not as scary for most people, unfortunately. This trend has led to yet another, which is the explosion of hunting calibers built specifically for use in the AR and how that is now replacing the venerable bolt action .30 calibers that have been the center of the hunting market for the better part of the last 70 years.
a 400 crank with the correct flex plate in a 350 block is a much better setup than a 350 crank in a 400 block. It's the wrong stroke/bore ratio, redline is too low, put that crank in the 350 block and then you are GTG
I appreciate 9mm because it's cheap, but if it were the 90s again with the magazine capacities in place, I'd opt for .40 too, not just for more power in a 9mm sized gun, but because I would also own a full size 10mm meaning the bullets for reloading are the same. I could have the compact Glock 19/23 in .40, then the full size Glock 40 MOS in 10mm, which also shoots .40 just fine.@Coyote33 I realize 9 was adopted due to NATO , but for a while in the civilian world .40 was all the rage, and it has from where I am sitting, been kicked to the curb like a hooker after a policeman's convention.
We can go back a lot of years when 32 Special was the common round for handgun, then 38 Special came along and all but killed 32
9 was huge because of Glock's arrival in the late 80's, but then every PD in the country ( almost) went to 40 Short & Weak.... how many ex Detroit PD glocks were dumped on the market when they changed to S$W M&P 40's..... thousands of them
Lots of departments have transitioned back to 9's, and folks like MSP are carrying M&P45's iirc
Nope. S&W options do nothing for me. Not a fan.So is S&W the only gun you will buy for now on? Is that what you suggest for everyone?
