Correct me if I am wrong, but the ATF only enforces Federal Laws. MGL is not in their wheelhouse. Was anyone from Mass Public Safety running around with the Feds?

“massive ATF force descends on the mill after a gun sold there linked to straw purchase and gang shooting. No dealers from the mill were available for comment”Hi. This is Karen from the Boston Globe.

What moron ffl would even say one word to the Glob?
Legislative deference to the Executive is surely a violation of the separation of powers.
They don’t need to. They know the laws. If they want to refer something to the state they have a back channel for that.Correct me if I am wrong, but the ATF only enforces Federal Laws. MGL is not in their wheelhouse. Was anyone from Mass Public Safety running around with the Feds?
Section 2: Unfair practices; legislative intent; rules and regulations
Section 2. (a) Unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce are hereby declared unlawful.
(b) It is the intent of the legislature that in construing paragraph (a) of this section in actions brought under sections four, nine and eleven, the courts will be guided by the interpretations given by the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Courts to section 5(a)(1) of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. 45(a)(1)), as from time to time amended.
(c) The attorney general may make rules and regulations interpreting the provisions of subsection 2(a) of this chapter. Such rules and regulations shall not be inconsistent with the rules, regulations and decisions of the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Courts interpreting the provisions of 15 U.S.C. 45(a)(1) (The Federal Trade Commission Act), as from time to time amended.

Such a sick joke on Massachusetts citizens to be using this bullshit to deny the sale of one brand of handgun that is otherwise on the Approved Roster as good to go.
The office of the AG has used (c) to declare it so. Theoretically, they could probably go further, but making that adjustment now would probably draw novel scrutiny that might be harder to defend against. How does this apply to a post 98 Glock?
Explain it to me like I am Kamala.

Yeah, it’s like an advertisement for 3D printers. While I have no inside knowlege, I would half-expect that ATF will be scanning 4473's and be sharing that data with MA with the intention of formally investigating violations of MA firearms laws.
If they ever had wanted to do so, now would be that time.
I think in April 98.It's not in MGL, it's under the "consumer protection" bullshit.
I think 1998 is the cutoff, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
I’m not sure I can act so stupid. She hit a new low over the astronauts story. How does this apply to a post 98 Glock?

so, is there a 'massive ATF force' at the mill or not? what is all this about?“massive ATF force descends on the mill after a gun sold there linked to straw purchase and gang shooting. No dealers from the mill were available for comment”
Not sure that’s better.
so, is there a 'massive ATF force' at the mill or not? what is all this about?
figures.I wasn't able to make it to the mill last night due to travel plans so when I got a call from the ATF on Tuesday they wanted to come do an inspection of my books and inventory. The guy was nice on the phone but was pushing for the inspection to be done last night. Guess they lined up a number of FFLs to take a look.
What would that accomplish? Let's say MA authorities find a 4473 for a Glock frame or an AR lower - so what? That's not against any law, state or federal. While I have no inside knowlege, I would half-expect that ATF will be scanning 4473's and be sharing that data with MA with the intention of formally investigating violations of MA firearms laws.

See post 2,151anyone see the Glob today, ATF has been swarming over the Mill this week
Dozens of ATF inspectors descend on gun vendors at Littleton mill following dealer’s arrest - The Boston Globe
The 83 vendors in the building all face inspection in coming days.www.bostonglobe.com
TL;DR: over two dozen ATF agents are at the mill this week for inspections.
According to the Globe, it's against the law to sell Glocks to non-LEOs. It's like they're not even trying to do thorough research before going to print.
Someone called in a favor.
.... Senator Jamie Eldridge, a Democrat whose district includes Littleton, said he’s been pushing for state or federal officials to assist Littleton with inspections since the Globe published its investigation in September, adding that he’s grateful the ATF has finally stepped in.
Eldridge estimated that 50 Littleton residents have reached out to him with concerns about the large number of gun dealers at the mill. They “want to know what is being done . . . to keep Littleton residents safe, to close loopholes, and make sure that every gun dealer in Massachusetts is thoroughly inspected on a regular basis,” he said....
What would that accomplish? Let's say MA authorities find a 4473 for a Glock frame or an AR lower - so what? That's not against any law, state or federal.
First off, it is not "Massachusetts law" but "Massachusetts CMRs"."Under Massachusetts law, gun dealers can only sell Glocks to members of law enforcement. Prosecutors say Daigle attempted to skirt the law by selling the frames and slides of the Glocks separately, since Massachusetts law only regulates guns that are capable of firing bullets."
So is that illegal???
First off, it is not "Massachusetts law" but "Massachusetts CMRs".
If the same dealer was selling both uppers and lowers for Glocks to the unspecial, it was a bad and foreseeably bad move.
And the CMR defined offense is not "gun sales" per se, but an "unfair and deceptive trade practice".
