Per the Herald, a Glock 22 is worth $5k. Dayum!
Boston cop on leave after service weapon allegedly stolen by strippers – Boston Herald
"A Boston cop who had his city-issued $5,000 gun allegedly stolen by two strippers ..."
EDIT: And the value has now been edited out of the article.
And I'm sure the cops blood alcohol content was zero too right?!?!But they were just “hanging out.”
Sorry I don't agree. Not happening to me ever.Something like this could happen to anyone, so that doesn't surprise. What does surprise me is that LEO's are still using the .40 caliber. I don't think I know anyone that uses .40 caliber anymore.
$5,000 Glock 22??? Was it up for sale in the XC?????
Nah, just sounds like somebody hit 0 one extra time. The $5000 is still listed on the arrest report and mentioned in the text below it.
Something tells me the officer who filled out that report isn't quite ready for the Sgt's exam yet.
No, but it's not about the taxpayer, it's about the state. All of this ludicrously with fringe MA cops (MSP and BPD especially) makes me wonder what the AVERAGE cop's behavior is like. These are just the guys that get caught. What about those that 1. don't get caught, and 2. do stupid shit but not to the point where it makes the news. Is the cost/benefit analysis really in favor of the taxpayer??
IDK, the brunette wasn't bad. There is nothing “high-end” about those two.
Hmm, possible. Must be a felony if the item stolen is over a certain value, but even a public defender will argue that the gun is no way worth 5 grand and work out a less charge with prosecutors.

There's no way the value was 5k, not unless the ammunition was made of pure Gold.

I sure hope the department doesn't put officer Brandao on the hostage negotiation team. However, Melissa Dacier, 22, and Neish Rivera, 25, told police that Brandao had arranged a “date” with them and paid $2,500 for their time, including sex, according to the records.
PAWTUCKET — Two Providence women accused of stealing the service revolver of Boston police officer Emanuel Brandao said that he paid them $2,500 for sex in a Pawtucket hotel room, according to police and court records.
Just what I was thinking.....perhaps I'm just getting old but if those two offered to pay me $2500 I would turn it down.....He paid those two $2,500!!??
