Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg reportedly argued Friday that guns need to be kept out of the hands of minorities in order to keep them alive.

While speaking at the Aspen Institute, Mr. Bloomberg, 72, said 95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: a male minority between the ages of 15 and 25, The Aspen Times reported.

Cities need to get guns out of this group’s hands and keep them alive, the former three-term mayor said, according to The Times.

“These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,” said Mr. Bloomberg, who funds the gun-control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety. “They just don’t have any long-term focus or anything. It’s a joke to have a gun. It’s a joke to pull a trigger.”

Mr. Bloomberg brought up the New York Police Department’s stop-and-frisk practices, recalling a time during his last year in office when a Baptist minster in Harlem invited him to speak at their church, The Times reported."

Not one liberal snowflake is protesting what was clearly the words of a racists. And just for the sake of argument, how does one disarm these misguided young men who are in possession of these guns illegally ? It not like they have a record of these guns. I think what this racist really means is this, take all the guns away from law abiding citizens, this is what will really prevent these poor confused young men from gaining access to these weapons. Proving beyond all doubt that this is our fault. Why go after the criminals when the victims are so easier to catch.

If you applied MA LTC licensing standards to a population of urban minorities when they hit age 21, my guess a substantial percentage would fail based on statutory prohibition or suitability.

so how can the solons trust them?

The flip side is that some fair fraction of youts in any community
have never stepped over the line (or have never been caught),
and are perfectly entitled to LTCs.

Well, I got the idea to punch back twice as hard against
