ATF Agents Raid Home of Youtube Gun Personality FPSRussia

not just mod-fellating... this is %100 the truth. i don't know what's been going on recently but years ago we were all super tight here and it would be awesome if we could get back to that. we all used to get together, shoot cars, shoot the shit, it was great. then bad shit started happening and it just kept the downward, negative momentum going. let's stop that.

some of my best total homo pals i met off of NES and we've had adventures, shared knowledge, and it's been awesome. you guys who haven't done this should try it.

[rofl], yeah, I met so many strange men from NES is totally scary and have done some "shady" transactions in parking lots next to garbage containers.

I was wondering when this f***stick was going to be gone. 536 posts in less than a month, maybe that was what he was getting paid to do . If so, someone wasted their money .

Dude, did you miss the post right above yours from the owner of the site?? I know PT isn't 'here' anymore, but this is the crap he's talking about. [thinking]

It's a common thing that happens when an online community grows beyond a certain size, especially when a lot of that growth happens in a short period of time. When the community is smaller, it's easier to keep things in check both from a practical standpoint (fewer posts to moderate) and a social standpoint (less likely to be an a**h*** if everyone knows everyone else, informal "don't be a dick" rule applies). Once the community grows beyond a certain point, the informal "don't be a dick" rule is harder to enforce by social pressure, and moderation has to become more strict to keep things in check.

The same thing happens in offline communities too, especially game/sport leagues. At a smaller level, everyone agrees on rules, and if there's a loophole in the rules people generally don't exploit it ("don't be a dick about it"). Once the community grows enough, new people don't have that same social pressure, and the rules have to grow infinitely more complex to deal with rules lawyers and other dicks who ruin it for everyone else.

the funny thing is that we all were pretty cool with each other before because we knew that at some point in the year we'd all meet up at least once and have fun together. sure people have differences in opinions, but there were none of the knock-down drag-out fag slap-fights with keyboards like there are now. only one member that i can think of crossed the line and brought a disagreement to a meet (and i wasn't even involved in this one!), but they are one of the two that i'd just rather not associate with.

either way, yes, don't be a dick!

Wheaton's Law: Don't be a dick.

If someone comes in spouting ignorant BS, I try to educate them, not berate them for their ignorance. Everyone was a noob at some point.

I so enjoy my shady (but painfully legal) NES parking lot transactions as well[laugh]
Everyone I've met has been cool (excepting the one d-bag who didn't show, but I guess I never really met him then...) and I always get a laugh out of what people must think if they happen to be watching. Do people in parking lots think NESers are ghey man-whores, drug dealers, I dunno??? I know that when a recent conversation in a Starbucks with someone I sold a gun to(using their wifi for an eeevil efa10) turned to gun talk the lady in the corner looked right up from her macbook[laugh]

In all seriousness, if this act didn't raise your level of awareness of how the proposed gun laws will effect us this should. Universal gun registration. At anytime this could happen to just about any of us here. Now that is something to be concerned about.
Hit an internet "celebrity " scare any other gun owning "activists" into hiding. The left is already labeling us as "extremists "

The core issue with all of this is that the average person doesn't care and according to some, even deserved this raid. For those of you that think that, do you think the hosts of Top Gear sould all be arrested?

This. But in all fairness, if you are referring To the US Top Gear, then I am all for it[rolleyes]

Thanks for dumbing yourself down to our level to participate, I know I would hate to be provoked to thought if it meant keeping up with you. It's soft, watered-down "males" like yourself that truly are our strength. Your compromise, diversity and lack of any solid core beliefs are a testament to the Greatness of America. Keep up the brave quest to find Common Ground with those who hate us, would disarm us, and if necessary to their "progress" would kill us. The promised Land you seek.... it's out there somewhere!
I guess you're of two minds on the issue, on one hand you want me to stand up for what I believe in to the point it causes harm to the forum, and on the other hand you sarcastically (very nicely done, by the way) call my masculinity into question for voicing them. Too bad that you chose to include the ad hominem component in your elegantly composed post. Ruined it by making it unworthy/unpalatable for me to address the issues you raised.

Also understand that this place has changed after 2012 election, a lot of new names popping up left and right because all of a sudden they are scared of .gov, writers for lefty blogs, state trolls, etc., then add Sandy Hook, and things have just gotten crazy. This forum, for the most part, is a close knit group of people. A lot of the more vocal members know each other, drink beers together, build guns together, shoot together, and are friends because of this forum. So, when there is a group of like minded friends all hanging out talking guns and politics, and some new guy shows up and try's to shit in their pitcher of beer, these things happen. I would get mad if it happened at cook out or members shoot, why not get upset when it happens here?
I find it interesting to discuss other sides of an issue, and I do so all the time; in person or online.

The forum isn't (or so I thought) like a Pro 2A rally event, or a quick gathering, it's a place where there is time to discuss things. Or so I thought.

A good start would be the GOAL rally on the common Wednesday.
I'll go look it up, I obviously didn't see it where I was looking.

Deep breaths before everyones panties get in a bunch.... Guys say Marijuana should be legal and they smoke it all the time, so be it. But the guy who makes a video of him growing a crop of it and makes and entire channel to it on YouTube and makes money off the videos, of course he'll get jammed up. Not saying the guy SHOULD get jammed up, but it's just drawing attention by making money off of it.

Did you get dropped on your head when you were a baby? Jesus titty f ucking Christ.

I found this interesting piece from the article linked below. I think most of the other stuff everyone has seen.

"Seeming to contradict the ATF's statement, Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas told WHLR that Tuesday's raids were in connection with the investigation into the suspected murder of Myers's former business partner, Keith Ratliff, who was found dead from a single gunshot to the head in January in the office of FPS Industries, the weapons testing business he owned."

40 officers to raid 1 house? Where does he live? In the castle of Versailles or something? I mean, if he has 4 bedroom 2baths, that's 5 cops to search every room, and kill the dogs. You gotta be shittin me. Your tax dollars at work.

They need them do each officer only has to take 10 trips carrying out guns

For the members complaining about getting their dicks stepped on for having a left or dissenting point of view. I don't like to see personal attacks, the mods and I can't see everything. If you feel someone is going over the top at being a dick PLEASE use the "report post" button. It's really quite simple. Those who continue to make personal attacks will be banned. There is absolutely no reason to ever post "go fvck yourself" in a thread.

I'm tired of the petty bullshit and I'm over it. We as firearms owners are already a huge minority as it is, we have to stick together if we want any chance to push back the socialist-left.
I'd not report anyone for being a dick. It's not one person that makes it over the top and makes it bad for the newbs. Everyone on the net needs to expect that a difference of opinion is going to cause some folks to be less polite than in person. It's the incessant group pile ons that have gone unchecked by the mods that make it uncomfortable, especially for new visitors here.

As I reminded someone who called me names a week or two ago, "Please treat me as if I was standing in front of you; we may meet someday." And I've heard the same thing back now from several others, and I've read from still others that things have gotten less collegial lately. I hope I can help contribute to less ill will by tempering some of my own remarks.

Of course Derek said it best; our differences are pretty small. We're all gun-loving folks, each of us has opinions, right or wrong, on how to expand our freedoms from where they are. We're on the same side, and we ARE likely to meet sometime. I hope that can be in brotherhood rather than in disdain.
