YouTube to Remove Non-Political Gun Content

So, is this what it's coming down to now? [thinking]

InRange TV, another channel devoted to firearms, wrote on its Facebook page that it would begin uploading videos to PornHub, an adult content website.

“YouTube’s newly released released vague and one-sided firearms policy makes it abundantly clear that YouTube cannot be counted upon to be a safe harbor for a wide variety of views and subject matter,” InRange TV wrote. “PornHub has a history of being a proactive voice in the online community, as well as operating a resilient and robust video streaming platform.” PornHub didn’t immediately return a request for comment on the matter.

YouTube Bans Firearms Demo Videos, Entering the Gun Control Debate

Question how do you bulk loaf your YouTube videos back to say a thumb drive.

Well hopefully you saved the originals locally already ... it will be higher quality that way when you upload it somewhere. There are a bunch of web sites out there that will download for you. Doesn't bitchute do that? I think so, but I haven't tried it.

Why is everyone so mad? This is a private business and they can run it anyway they want. And we can just not do business with them.

Not like a book burning. Govt did that. This is private.

Stop whining.

There are so many great content creators on YouTube that are going to get hit with this. Take Johnny's Reloading Bench or TiborasaurusRex and his Long Range Sniper 101 series. Lots and lots of hard work by many people who have put heart and soul for some 10+ years into the content they have on YouTube. It is a big deal to move all of that onto a completely new (to them) system. It will happen eventually. But think of how so many of the younger generation that got into firearms because of YouTube. Without that content on YouTube, you will not pull in a large segment of young, future firearms owners. You are in essence just operating in a "internet closet" so to speak. We all are able to follow content to where it ends up, but it will not be in front of the faces of the youth.

Ignoring any legal arguments, what moral difference is there between the government banning speech or the largest companies on the planet that are major sources of information doing it? You don’t think that’s something to be upset about?

86% of the smartphone market is owned by Google and 14% by Apple - the negligible .000000002% of third parties is nearly useless in the US. Can you reasonably work in your field without a smart phone? I know I can't in either field, so I'm stuck in an oligarchy where my money goes to either one megacorporation or another, even as they operate to restrict my rights by financing and giving support to these causes.

You honestly believe that 3 political activist trillion dollar companies controlling most of communication from hardware to software and 3 political activist trillion dollar companies controlling most major media outlets doesn't represent a threat to your rights? You think this is a move not to appease advertisers (that was dealt with months ago) and not one to influence society to bring them in line as footsoldiers against your rights? Get real.

Never mind that content creators (like myself, and better than myself) have invested a lot of time and effort to make this stuff, with the understanding that we would continue to be able to. YouTube has essentially become like a utility - imagine the phone company cutting off service to your business because they didn't like ornery a**h***s, despite your having done nothing wrong?

By the way, our Attorney General is "investigating" not lawbreaking, but "terms of service" violations at Facebook right now. Let that sink in; the impact here isn't limited to what happens on some website when it comes to TOS violations.

Not like a book burning. Govt did that. This is private.

Bullshit. Citizens did that, at the behest of marxists or fascists, sure, but citizens just as much as governments.

Stop whining.

Whatever, a**h***. Whatever happened to the negative rep button?

If Christian Bakers is forced to bake the penis cake, then Youtube can host the f***ing gun videos.

That's all great and all, until you discover it's difficult to impossible to do online stuff using a competitor. I just signed up to bitchute... I see about 1/3 of who I'm subscribed to on there, but not all have the full list of their videos on there. I'll still have to look at youtube to get to the rest.

He's a nutjob.

And there's also the network effect. Sure, we can all go form our own platform and talk to each other, and I encourage that. But, sheeple will no longer stumble across the stuff we talk about and have a chance of learning about it. Most people will remain on youtube until it is nothing left but movie trailers, Beonce wiggling her butt videos, and of course cat videos (well those are terrific, but...) And, we'll all be in our echo chamber.

The ignorant + the emotional distraught = 4th reich under the Democrats

Sheeple are blind, stupid, and filled with rage, and are acting irrationally, contrary to their self-interest.

Classic, with much historic precedence.

No word is strong enough to describe the corrupt media, although the 1st Amendment is sacrosanct, as nothing more than political hucksters.

Youtube is unAmerican as it's controlling the narrative. The population has been cut out of the equation of liberty.

Resist.

Send many emails to the youtube establishment.

Resist.

Remind editors, and don't waste your time on the dullard mouthpiece reporters, who pay their mortgages for their mcmansions in lexington, weston, wayland.

find them and make them aware of how you feel!!!!!

email, write, and call to hold the Kameradschaftpolizei (kapo) accountable!

reporter=Kapo= Without the functionary prisoners, the SS camp administrations would not have been able to keep the day-to-day operations of the camps running smoothly.[10][11] The kapos often did this work for extra food, cigarettes, alcohol or other privileges.[12] (Wikipedia)

Youtube is so huge that it has become a quasi-gov't entity. Wake up, Mr Chamberlain.

This would be a great opportunity for the NRA to set up a website just like youtube but specifically for gun people.
They won't, of course, because they would have to spend a bunch of their ill-gotten gains to do something other than line their pockets.

All the purpose-built websites are missing the point. Don't get me wrong, it's great for us, but generationally this aint good. Live by private industry die by private industry I guess. Pretty disgusting. I wouldn't want them censoring gun-control propaganda either. As what has become a major media source I think the responsible thing would be to be as "open" as possible (obviously not showing human exploitation). They don't give a shit about that. Just another group of useful idiots who want to push an agenda.

Mike

Google and all the other tech giants need to be declared defacto public utilities. Just as Eversource can't shut off your power because they disagree with your political beliefs so too should Google be prohibited from denying service on the same grounds.

Either that or 1 the anti trust laws are actually enforced and these conglomerates are busted up or 2 class action lawsuits are filed en masse for political discrimination and gross violations of first amendment rights.

Or maybe something like Paul Neihlen's proposed "shall not censor" legislation goes through and these companies can eat shit.

Pornhub, jeez. I’d prefer they just throw heir shit up on LiveLeak until some of the other prospective platforms get an app ready or something.

It doesn't need to solely be the NRA that funds it. The issue is whoever did this would be labeled "Nazi, racist, homophobe, etc." by the Snowflakes and no advertisers would fund them.

Sadly, the days of free internet media that are pro gun, pro freedom, and pro truth are gone. If we want good, educational, informative content, we're going to have to pay for it. It's the Fake News and the garbage 2 minute videos on Youtube that don't cost a dime that will continue to be supported by advertisers.

So, we'll get what we pay for as the adage goes.
