U.S. Rep. Steve D. Russell brings a unique perspective on firearms to the House of Representatives. He’s a career soldier, collector of military firearms and is the only one on Capitol Hill who is an active firearms manufacturer.
Rep. Russell’s admiration for firearms is deeply-rooted in his calling to serve in the U.S. Army as an infantry soldier. He served tours in Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq, where he commanded a task force that captured former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. He chronicled the mission in his memoir, “We Got Him.” Following his military career, he formed successive veteran’s advocacy groups and ran for and won an open seat in Oklahoma’s state Senate in 2008. It was there, Russell, turned a career of carrying a rifle, into a new calling of ensuring the right to bear arms was respected.
Victories at the state level included hunting with suppressors, open carry legislation, and clearing up language on “shall issue” questions with respect to mental health. But it wasn’t until 2010 when Russell went from firearms enthusiast to manufacturer. He couldn’t bring home rifles he saw during his combat tours in Iraq. So he made one.
“With that in mind, I found an existing rifle and altered its appearance, made it look like an Iraqi rifle,” Rep. Russell explained. “Some of my veteran buddies asked, ‘Where’d you get that?’ I said, “Aw, I just made these changes to this rifle. So they said, ‘If I got one, would you do that to mine?’ I said sure. After a half a dozen of those, I thought there might be something to this.”
That was the birth of Two Rivers Arms, a company that’s still producing firearms and even caught the eye of legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood as he was filming “American Sniper,” the biopic on former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.
The downside is that the Democrats end up winning if we sit out, but it's not like we're better off with the current crop of Republicans running the show. We are worse off with Democrats though because the media does not hold them to the fire. We have two Dems in Congress who are all but guilty of sexual misconduct and the media is silent saying to work it through the Ethics committee, but when it comes to some tweets Donald Trump makes, the media may as well be calling for a lynch mob.It wouldn’t surprise me as they think ‘where are you gonna go?’ They don’t realize the answer is no where - not to the polls either.
They are trying to get good press and are so disconnected they think it will help them.
I really think they spend so much time in the big cities that they forgetSomeone needs to remind these a**h***s that there are elections coming up, and they're not going to like what happens if they force this shit through.
Have they forgotten that their constituency is free america, not Kommiefornia or the Kommenwealth of Massatwoshits?
This won't surprise anyone, but several years ago they tested the testosterone of a few men who work for NPR. They were all extremely low. https://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/220/transcriptThe downside is that the Democrats end up winning if we sit out, but it's not like we're better off with the current crop of Republicans running the show. That's the difference between the two sides. The only solace I have is that apparently the paragons of virtue in the media are no less immune from allegations of sexual misconduct than politicians are.
I just hope that people can understand that when they watch the news media they are looking at deviants in the men and whores in the women and should just turn away.

The roots of the swamp are thick. Term limits and voter ID are the only solution.I really do not trust this bunch either. I just wish President Trump was more successful at destroying the deep state.
The Hughes amendment was passed under such shady circumstances that it may not have legally passed at all.I guess most 'republicans' forget it was Reagan who brought us the real assault weapons ban. I've never looked at the vote count to see if they could have overridden a veto, if they could have I'd call it a wash, but still.

It's worth nothing those Norinco Type 56 carbines were semi-autos modified for fully-automatic fire. The Bushmaster XM15 Dissipator allegedly was also modified to enable full-auto fire. No machine gun receivers were acquired for use in that shootout.Every single time anti's use the 'automatic weapons are bad' logic, I ask them how often full autos are used in a crime. Generally, they can't name a single instance. The only recent incident that I know were full autos was the North Hollywood bank robbery, where the guns were already controlled, so the law didn't prevent anything.
Just throwing out an idea here, maybe the Republicans want it to fail so they can say they tried?

So please contact your Senators, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) and Sen. Edward Markey (D).
...
P.S. Please urge your Senators to oppose the Cornyn-Schumer bill (S. 2135). Tell them that the "Traffic Ticket Gun Ban" is the worst gun control in over a decade for a bill that has a serious chance of passing.
True but just think if hundreds of thousands or more were to do it they might actually take notice. Unfortunately not enough gun owners get involved at all.You know it's a absolutely absurd situation when you might actually have a hope of those two idiots voting against a gun ban bill. Then again, if they manage to separate the NICS bill from CC reciprocity there's no chance in hell.
