I have about 1200 rounds of various calibers of ammo stored in 2 ammo cans in my closet.
I think the easiest way is not to be a "gun guy",girls tend to get creeped out by ANY man that patterns his life and gets emotional around guns,or any other inanimate objects.I never said anything, never told her I own guns.Just asked if she wanted to go to the range.
When you start walking around the house screaming about the .gov taking your guns and how you want to kill all comers, girls tend to get creeped out.
I own guns, but am not a gun owner.
I ride motorcycles,but I am not a biker.
Don't identify yourself by your hobbies and you should be ok.
The ladyfriend doesn't like me carrying when she's around, so I just don't tell her. I had her try and search me on a walk because I told her I wasn't carrying and she didn't believe me. Turns out I actually wasn't, though I should have been. She's slowly coming around though.
I just don't tell her how many I have, when I buy a new one, or how much ammo I actually have hoarded away. I'm pretty sure she'd freak if she ever saw my little cache, and I'm an amateur compared to a lot of people here. I've never heard her complain while shooting any of my guns at the range though. Funny, right?
Anyways, ready handguns are always stored in the safe, loaded with one in the chamber, in their holsters, safety off where applicable. Bad enough I have to lock it away, no way it's not going to be ready to go when I need to grab it.
I usually have more than that in my car trunkOnly 1200 rounds? Your right......Your not a gun guy. oh
I keep most of my ammo stored on my fiancees side of the bedroom closet. Talk about teamwork in a relationship lolol.Girlfriend just asked me where I store my ammo for my carry / home defense gun.
"In the gun."
She's not a gun person and was under the impression that guns and ammo are stored in separate locked containers making them useless for protection. Anyone else out there in longterm relationship with a significant other that isn't a fan of firearms?
shoot more.
