what to carry in mexico

My grandma has been living part time in mexico for over 30 years, she's 75 now, has never had a problem and has probably seen that place change more than anyone else here. Had homes in TJ, Rosarito, Ensenada and in Oaxaca. Not one issue, but she said you just keep your eyes open, act like an adult and don't be stupid.

Sage advise. Wasp spray is stupid, taking a gun into that country is stupid, thinking you have rights without having mexican citizenship is stupid. Don't make yourself a target, and learn a few phrases to listen for.

Instead, I would vacation in San Diego...much safer and you can get "edible" Mexican food there.
