The issue is that case law is only coming from one side - blue states.
And they are simply rubber stamp confirming each other's opinions without regard to Supreme Court president.
And scotus is playing games with the entire range of 2a cases because nothing is finalized in the circuits.

It could be that they want to see every way the rebellious courts twist Bruen so they can write a more air tight response.
Or they have been sent packages documenting things they don't want public with the instructions that they are to remain silent.
