Today’s finest gun manufacturer is…

Is anyone concealing a VP9sk or a USPc? These guns are just a tad too large for my CCW liking. And is the P2000sk discontinued?

I carry a USPc sometimes, when I’m wearing more than just a T-shirt. It’s not the flattest or leanest carry gun but I love it. The p2000 conceals a little better but I never take it out - I guess I just like the USPc (or even the p7) more. The p2000sk is a great, well made little gun that can be found for bargain prices and conceals well if you can live with the short grip (I can’t).

I can’t find the P2000sk anywhere. I was originally interested in this gun but gave up.

How does the USPc trigger compare to the VP9sk?

My only experience with the VP9 line was shooting someone else’s full sized VP9 at the range once. I don’t remember much except for being generally impressed by it.

Doesn’t HK have a new subcompact coming out?

I feel like P2Ksks are in the classifieds here pretty regularly for a little over $600. Post a wtb and see what happens if you do want one.

Edit: there are multiple for sale right now

Paging @Reptile The NES specialist in cargo shorts fashion.

Maybe OWB it feels like that but IWB, hell no. and I've carried most of the family. Outside of the G19 (which is identical to a 23 in footprint) a USPc or even a P2000 has significantly
more lard on it. Although the P2K seems much closer to a 19/23 than a USPc is, because of the slide profile. Honestlry if I had trained with the LEM trigger I had, more... I probably would have just kept the P2K. I could never get used to the long-ish reset in the long run. IMHO the P2K LEM would have been stellar if they were all bruce gray specials out of the
box. (At the time I didn't have Bruce take care of mine because he wsa stupidly busy and I didn't want to wait months to get the gun back Not his fault, just a reality of the
business. )
Weird, I used the exact same IWB holster for both the USP 40 and the G23? Both guns locked into it and didn't come out.

The LEM trigger was cool once you learned the reset. I shot the HnK faster eventually, but the G47 I was almost as fast right out of the box, and it's really harder to shoot much faster than I did at the time. I've got a video of a 6 shot string with almost all the brass in the air at one time. One other thing I could never 'unlearn' was a pause in my strings between my first shot and the rest of the string with the HnK.

I blurred my face when I was still working..but: I may have to make some changes to the settings before it's viewable if it's not ready to go
I missed the reset on the last string when I was going as fast as I could. :( I should have also video'd the target, they were all 5 ring hits.

$250 for cargo pants wtf

I carry a full size vp9 with holosun 507 red dot IWB in a tulster kydex holster in the winter. With Jean's, good carry belt and a hoodie/ jacket it prints but honestly the only people who ever notice are other CCers
People are so oblivious I stopped worrying about printing. It is way too big for summertime with a t shirt though. That's when I swap it out for the p365
Do you shoot the VP9 noticeably better?

Faster follow up shots for sure. But I ascribe that to the red dot.
if I'm going somewhere that feels dangerous or sketchy I always opt for the vp9 with extra mags.
but despite it's small size I really like the p365 and can shoot it proficiently under 25 yards

I know people hate on the paddle style release but having used it myself for awhile I love it.
I despise it. It is too far for me to reach with my thumb. The spring is too stiff. Using your trigger finger for something other than the trigger right next to the trigger guard seems like a bad idea to me.

I had two USPc that I sold. Those guns had the worst DA trigger ever made and the SA trigger was at best meh.

HKs are horridly overpriced and just generally way overhyped. Are they decent guns? Sure, OK, but a Glock 19 is overall a better gun and costs 40% less.

Both HK and glock are stuck in the 90s. At least glocks customer service is good, unlike HK whose warranty is as good as Sears'.
I remember trying to buy a new mainspring from HK. It took 1/2 a dozen phone calls and a couple months. Completely f***ing useless company.

I was that kid who won alot of thumb wars in school so even with the larger grips attached my thumb lines up perfectly with the paddle release. Having said that other people who've shot my vp9 and dont have long thumbs hated it most notably my father who has smaller hands.
I can admit I got the vp9 over a glock 19 cuz I wanted an Hk pistol as opposed to any function based argument. I just had to be different. Also my favored LGS just started having the balls to sell glocks, they are behind the times out here in western mass when it comes to having balls regarding Maura edicts

I wear a large size glove, but really have to shift the gun in my grip to reach the HK mag release.

Don't get me wrong, Glocks have their warts, too. The grip circumference would be smaller if Glock used proper steel magazines instead of the stupid plastic mags. The stock sights are crap, but I replace the sights on most every gun, so not a big deal. The factory glock slide release is too small, but easily replaced with the factory extended slide stop which works very well and only costs about $20. But in exchange, the Glock 19 is size efficient compared to most HKs. The HK USP line, in particular, had stupidly oversized slides that were simply HUGE.

...butbut....they're tactical [rofl]
They are of the highest quality and made in the US.

Most of the year I wear one single pair of shorts or one single pair of Raiders.

Every day. I keep them clean.

6 months out of the year, I'm wearing the same pants.
I'm on my 6th year with this pair.

They hold up really well.

Buy once, cry once.

I would have gone through 10 pairs of 511's by now.

Yes, but IMHO the cost isnt that dramatic. It's a handgun under a grand, whoopty do. The out of box QC is great, too.

Also the VP70Z is calling and wants to have a word with you about bad DA triggers. [rofl] A USP isnt really bad, sand paper a wolff kit and an hour fixes a lot of sins.

There are a lot of valid whines about HK handguns but I don't really find the pricing that absurd to begin with. Actually on the VP9s there were basically giving them away for Glock prices up until about 3 yrs ago and then they tweaked things a bit because they realized that at $549 they were basically just giving the things away and people would pay more, on average.

Actually if anything I have a bigger issue with the pricing of the magazines etc. the consumable cost on both of those brands, on their newer handguns is rape level compared to
Glock and even CZ. Even the dealer cost of HK and Sig doublestack mags for things like the P320 is f***ing insane now.

Meanwhile in Glock land I can have a drum of mags for cheap money.

ETA: Honestly I likely would have never ditched my P2000 if not for the fact that, over a long time, I figured out my hands dont really fit the guns, and I basically point HKs at the ground, at least the newer ones... the MK23, the USP etc are more neutral, but P2000, P30, VP9 are ergonomic nightmares in my hand for NPOA. the newer HK guns do not point naturally for me.

I had a USP and it was a decent gun. Sold it because it was a .40 LOL in the days before everyone was shitting on .40. As I recall the trigger was decent and a world apart from a Glock trigger. Since that time I have bought several Glocks and no HK's mainly due to the purpose for the Glocks- everyday carry, truck gun, etc. I can tolerate the world's worst pistol trigger for the reliability, value, and ease of servicing a Glock. I think an HK is a nicer gun but I don't really have a purpose for one. Love to have a Mk 23 but there are other things I'd rather spend that level of $$$ to obtain.

I put a minus connector in all of my Glocks. It makes the trigger passable.

I had a VP9. It was a great shooter but at least mine was ammo picky. I used my middle finger for the paddle release. For me it was almost instinct with no effort on my part. However, I bought something else and had to send it down the road.

Vp9 full size was my first gun.
Got it in March and aiwb holstered it for about 3 months then traded it for a full size usp 9.

Aiwb the usp9 through the summer with ease.
Then eventually got a Beretta 92 and did the same with it.

Rotated between those for a while.

Also did the same with a fully equipped fullsize HK45. Red dot and flashlight on it.

Currently, I'm using a aiwb holster and rocking my full size usp40. But I have it at 2:30-3:00 because I don't have to worry about printing as much as my last job.

Did you not know of hkparts.net or something?
Or and aftermarket spring suppliers like wolfe?
