U.S. Congressional candidate and former state senate member Richard Tisei aligned himself with President Obama in a recent debate with incumbent John Tierney stating that he is for reinstating a federal assault weapons ban, from the article in the Glob:

The two found some agreement on other issues.

Both said they would support reauthorization of a federal assault weapons ban and both backed restrictions on high capacity ammunition clips.

MA already has a AWB. Why do they have to push their regressive, anti-freedom agenda on people that want nothing to do with Massachusetts?

If you don't vote for Tisei, you're voting for socialism.

another politician that wants to limit the constitution. hooray! the 4th amendment is already completely out the window, the 2nd is on its way out. 1A is next.

**** republicans. **** democrats.

Next email I get from his staff asking fo something, I'll let them know that he's a sellout. They email me all the time letting me know the next event/etc. We gunowners are treated like unclean lepers. F" EM ALL!

Can someone explain - in a serious manner, please - where all this renewed AWB talk is coming from? The thing didn't affect crime the first time, crime didn't skyrocket when it was lifted, but all of a sudden I am hearing talk of it all over the place. WTF? Why, all of a sudden, nearly ten years after the last bill expired, are we seeing a push for a new one?

I assume this is all just knee-jerk reactionary foolishness relating to the few high profile shootings in the last year?

I would guess the few high profile shootings that you said. Colorado, the one yesterday, I think there was 1 more, etc. Total BS, but I am sure that is their thinking.

If the "new" GOAL still believes in those ratings, then I will never join or give them money. If GOAL thinks the ratings are BS, they need to pull them down.

Well, considering who posted the OP I think GOAL should get at least a little slack.

Was an "assault weapon" used in any of those?
