Found my first one this weekend. Thought it was lint on my sock. Switched the dog to the pills this year, so it will be interesting to see if they work as well as the liquid stuff.
I have got to make a cheap POC test for Lyme.
Went to the doc a few years ago in the summer with flu like symptoms but no rash. I have crappy insurance that pays for only preventative so this was all out of pocket. He said I can pay several hundred dollars for a test but they are often inaccurate or I can just take some Amoxicillin and call it a day. I did that. Basically his logic was this, I live in rural CT, it's summer when the flu is not common yet I have flu like symptoms and I spend a lot of time outdoors, very high likelihood I had lyme's disease, treat accordingly. He saved me a crap ton of money.
You got to get closer with your pictures - but from the body shape that I can see now - no.I looked at a couple web sites to see if I could identify them but I didn't find a match.

I found some ticks on me on the 7th. Brown bodies with red flanks. I treated my hunting kit with permethrin that night. No problems since.
